JQuery :: Setting Up A Webplayer With Playlist Using <iframe> And <object> Codes?

I'm having trouble setting up a webplayer on a site. I had set up the player receiving the files and set up a jwplayer with an xml playlist. I am then notified we won't be receiving files just <iframe> and <object> codes. The player I am using only supports this if I get a crossdomain.xml set up and that's not an option. What I need to know is how to set up a playlist that can on click play the selected <iframe> and <object> codes in a player window next to them. I am a beginner with javascript, most of my experience is html.

I am creating a website, and I have javascript function that will play a video playlist by passing it a playlist ID. I want to be able to share a url that points to my website and also calls a javascript function, like: [URL] If someone clicks/enters that url, they redirect to my website and the getPlaylist(id) function is called. Is there a way I can do this?

Trying to add a new property to a non-jQuery object from inside each loop doesn't appear to work:
var arguments=new Object();
arguments['ticket']=ticket;
arguments['email']=email;
arguments['module']=module;
arguments['epoch']=new Date().getTime();
var total=0;
$('select.category').each(function(){
var name=$(this).attr('id');
var option=$(this).find('option:selected').val();
total+=parseInt(option);
arguments[name]=option;
});
The 'total' variable works as expected. The the 'arguments' variable doesn't. Almost like
a variable scope issue or something. If I put some extra debug code to print out all the
property/value pairs, outside each loop I only see original four, and inside each loop only
the new one just set and none of the original four.?

I've been using the JME playlist plugin successfully in the scenario where I load one list and interact with that list only. However, I've had to update my app to load multiple lists and switch between them. Unfortunately, I can't get the new playlist to load - the original keeps playing. The behavior I'm going for is analogous to what happens when you call $('audio').loadSrc(new_playlist) - where the old playlist stops playing and the new playlist starts playing from the beginning.
I'm trying to use the array method,$('audio').playlist(pl_array), as that's easiest for processing. I've included a test example here so you can see the exact code I'm using:

I'm trying to use a script-generated form to submit to a script-generated iframe. The problem I'm running into is that the iframe is not assuming the name I assign it.
IE6 on Win2000. FF1.0.2+ doesn't seem to have the problem.
I'm doing:
this.iframe = document.createElement( 'iframe' );
this.iframe.id = this.id + 'wh'
this.iframe.style.display = 'none'
this.iframe.name = this.iframe.id; // <---
// snippage, including generation of the form
this.form.target = this.iframe.name;
this.form.appendChild( this.iframe );
However, when I submit the form it opens in a new window.
When I alert( document.body.innerHTML ), I am being told:
<IFRAME id=dr436929wh></IFRAME>
[sic]
i.e. no "name" attribute (hence the new window).
What I've already tried:
* Setting the iframe.name attribute only after
this.form.appendChild( this.iframe )
* Using this.iframe.setAttribute( name, ... ) prior to and after the
appendChild
* Setting this.form.target = this.iframe (just for the hell of it)

I am passing a URL via the GET method url variables. The original URL looks like this:Code: The actual site is done in coldfusion and I do not have access to that or any other server side languages. PG=FORUMS is the page that contains the iframe and I need the iframe src to be the same as the "page" variable.I attempted to throw together some scripts I found online and this is what I came up with:

I have the following call in a JS function: window.frames['frameid'].location = <new location> This works perfectly in IE7 but breaks in IE8. No exception is reported and the IE8 debugger shows the statement as being executed but the location is never updated. Using IE8 in Compatibility View works as IE7 did.
The only oddity is that the JS function that executes this is being called from JS code inside the frame page. Both pages are in the same domain so I don't think it's XSS protection getting in the way. They are however part of different Tomcat webapps. I've tried adding the domain to the IE trusted sites list and setting the security level of the Trusted Sites zones to Low

I've been messing around with Javascript and working in Firefox.
I did this:

However, this doesn't work in IE (not yet tested Safari etc). Does anyone know of a way of doing this or something similar in IE?

I have a page containing a hidden <div> called 'controls' plus an <iframe>
containing a second page. I need to be able to set the visibility of the
'controls' div when the page in the iframe loads. Is this possible?
Using this code I can change the visibility from a link in the parent
window:
onClick="document.getElementById('controls').style.visibili ty='visible'"
but if I try something like
parent.getElementById('controls').style.visibility ='visible'
It just replaces the parent with the page from the iframe.

I was hoping I could do something like this in javascript:
var a = {x:1, y:2};
var b = {x:2, z:3};
b.prototype = a;
And then:
b.x => 2
b.y => 2
b.z => 3
The purpose is to set up "b" as an override of "a".
I know it doesn't work that way because "prototype" is not a magic property on any object but constructors only. Is there a way to implement the above without involving a constructor?

have different players on a given page - youtube, vimeo, soundcloud, etc.
when the first player is finished playing whatever it is, then it can move to the next one and start playing.
obviously we are talking about players that have javascript apis available. what i'm thinking is: have a "state" for when the player is playing (is it called an object?). run a loop that checks to see if the first item is playing, and when it's finished it goes to the next item and plays it.

I am developing a web application with full of independent widgets in form of iframes. I would like to avoid embeding jquery (and jQuery UI) in each iframe's head to reduce number of requests and want to use the libs from the parent window instead. In iframes' head I tried the following code:
window.$ = window.content.$;
window.jQuery = window.content.jQuery;
Well it works but naturally as the jquery object belongs to the parent document I can manipulate only the DOM nodes of parent document from the iframe and not the DOM nodes of the iframe itself! I think if I could replace the "document" object of "window.$" with iframe's "document" object it would work!
1) Is "=" copy by value or by reference? If I succeed to replace the "document" object in "window.$", will it be also replaced in "window.content.$"?

More elaboration for those who want it:
Suppose we have anObjectType, with a property .description, whose value
can be a string, and the value of .description actually describes the
structure of anObjectType as a string. (The details are not important
about how the structure is described, but if you want something concrete,
think of 'anObjectType' as a DOM Node of type NODE_ELEMENT, and
..description as the property .innerHTML.)
When an instance of anObjectType is created, the value of description is
created with the instance. Indeed, the value of description may not be
set with the construction of anObjectType, but it might be added to the
prototype of anObjectType.
But the property .description is not merely read-only. Fetching the value
of .description returns the string which describes the structure of the
object in a meaningful way.
When .description is set with a value of type string, the string is
checked to see if it properly describes a legally formed structured for
anObjectType, and the instance (and only that instance) of anObjectType is
completely re-built: it might possibly be destructed and then re-
constructed, or all properties (but not methods) which involve descendant
objects are changed to conform to the described structure.
The question is, the setting of a string value of the property
..description of object anObjectType does not automatically trigger a
method/methods (or an exception??) for doing something (such as

I have a question about ajax, php si mysql.. In mysql i have a table playlists and here is the code for php:

I have implement jCarousel onto my website, my jCarousel has 8 items on each page, when user click "Next" button, then jCarousel will display item 9 until item 16. I want to execute a certain codes only when jCarousel is displaying item 1 to item 8. In other word, I want to execute the codes on 1st page only. In other word, I want to execute the codes before click the "next" button. How to do that? I not sure which 1 should I use? Should I use itemFirstInCallback or itemVisibleInCallback or buttonNextCallback? I refer to this website[URL]..jQuery/jCarousel/ but there is not example or guideline about how to use them. How to validate an input field for a set group of zip codes. Basically I have a list of about 200 zip codes that are valid for this project I'm working on. I tried using the range method and wasn't able to get it to do what I needed it to do. I don't want anyone else to see what the list of correct zip codes are, this is to verify that they are local.

I'm having difficulties to understand why the code below doesn't work.
The idea is to generate an <iframe> with a higher z-index compared to
an <object>. In Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, everything works fine,
but Firefox/Netscape seems to have problems with this construction.

I simply need to reference an object inside an iframe:
