I know there are about a dozen posts similar to this one, but Iæve read them all, and none of them seem to give a straight answer. So, what I want to do is add text to a textarea when a button is clicked. However, I don't just want it appended at the end, but inserted at the point where the cursor/caret currently is. Having browsed the various posts above, Iæve put together the following: Code:
I'm working on an ajax driven chat room (you can see the "proof of concept" at URL..., and I'm currently working on a function to add color symbols to the chat textbox;As written, function works just great. however, I wish to add the further feature of placing the cursor between the symbols, if the "middle" variable is empty.
I need to combine these 2 functions in order to get use them withonclick ='javascript:_get1("2","x"); ' + how to do "preloader" to the function _get() (that loads image file from, [URL]
There is a Text Area that user can enter text. assume that user enter something and put a dot Following values should be populate in a drop down at the place where dot locate .
like when we get the string object using Net Beans IDE and when we put "Object." , drop down will be displayed with available methods for that particular object. idea is to build a editor using java script.
just started using jQuery Validate, and am not very familiar with jQuery at all (it's on my todo list). Either way, I picked up the validate form and like it, aside from the fact that I HATE that it imposes a label onto you.In my case, where it says "Enter your name", for example, I'd like that to get replaced with "Required field" when someone doesn't input it. I've dug through the code but between a language I don't know (using lots of methods I don't know of), and other people's code, I just can't wrap my brain around where to edit so that the error message is appended (well, deletes that div then appends the message) to a specific div instead of creating a brandy-new label.
for opening a PopUp Window I use the Popup.js from Adrian "yEnS" Mato Gondelle. Adrian has written a function to center the popup by calculating the window height/with and popup width/height as well ans putting the coord in the middle of these coordinates. Like this:
function centerPopup(){ //request data for centering var windowWidth = document.documentElement.clientWidth; var windowHeight = document.documentElement.clientHeight;
[Code].....
My Problem with this is, that it only centers the Popup correctly if you haven't scrolled down the page. What I need is a jQuery way to get the height of the actually scolled position to calculate the correct value for the top css parameter as well, to get my PopUp every time in the correct top/left position without having this scrolling bug. Is there a way in jQuery how I can get the scrolled down coordinates? I need the height of the scrolled position and by adding the half height of the screen resolution I have the css top value which I need here.
i am facing problem with JQuery Scrollable menu, i am trying to placing 2 scrollable panels on a single asp.net page. When there is one panel every thing works fine but when i copy and paste the code so my web page contains two panels vertically, the thing doesn't work, the tow panels just hanged!!
My requirement is to develop a simple form with checkboxes which when selected calculate a price based on the value assigned to the checkbox. The form and calculations is working great but i need a few final touches which i can't work out.
1. I want the total to be in plain text and not in a text box maybe just drop the total value in a DIV.
2. I want the form to start with a default value for example 200, i have tried adding a hidden checkbox with a value of 200 and setting it to checked as default but it doesnt display 200 in the total when i first load the page it only calculates it when i select the first box and i need it to be displayed as the total even if no options are selected.
I'm attempting to place an img element after an input tag (which has an id).
var loadingImg = document.createElement('img'); loadingImg.setAttribute('id', 'workimg'); loadingImg.src = '/new/images/working.gif' document.getElementById('username').appendChild(loadingImg);
Basically it's temporary feedback to tell the user that their request is "working". I'm not quite sure how to place the image element after the username element however. Ideas?
I have written this drop-down box so that it will change a picture, i would also like it to change text, or the description of the picture when changed. What I have so far is this: Code:
I have the 10000th word and I want to put the this symbols [ and this ] the beginning and end of words .. so my question is .. how do I put the symbol is simultaneously the 10000th word that is .. there is not any program that can do such ...
Am using Struts framework. I want the cursor to be on the first field (text box/select box) when i run the JSP. I've tried with the following command <body onLoad="document.login.userid.focus"> login is my form name and userid is text box name where I want the cursor to be but it didnt work.
I have a couple of questions that i'm hoping someone can assist me with. I'm new to Jquery and JavaScript. I am trying to get the width of each inline list item and place them into an array. Once in the array, I am hoping to retrieve the largest integer from the list. Here is what I have so far:
Code: $(document).ready(function(){ var arrayList = $('ul li').get();
Curious about the following issue. I currently have a dynamic drop-down based on the value of each option.. If selection in top drop-down is B it will show all options with a B contained in the second/resulting drop-down.
Now - I also want to evaluate the options by having the script check for a few keywords..
Example - have it evaluate the drop-down on page load for options with text containing 'blah123' (ex. <option value="0323G">Qwerty - blah123</option>). And if any of the options have that text the script will generate an additional drop-down menu allowing you to select blah123 or other specified text. Say another thing I'd like to search each text string for is 'abump'. If there is 'blah123' and 'abump' contained within the drop-down, a third drop-down menu will be generated (as said before) with only blah123 and abump as options. Whichever of these is selected will narrow down the options available in the final drop-down menu.
I'm looking for have a text field when a user clicks in the text field a drop list of values appears for the user selects from and populates the text box they clicked. Is there anywhere I can find this or something similar?
So far i have a database with all data in it.I have the 1st text field where the user enters their postcode and then the page reloads populating the drop down menu with the corresponding suburbs.Next what i want is after a suburb has been selected in the list, the page reloads again and the corresponding city, state and country is displayed in the other 3 text fields.How can i get the query to execute and fill in the last 3 fields after a suburb in the drop list has been selected?

Users enter a page and choose from a drop down list for example when they choose 6 then the page should load 6 text boxes. Im also wondering how we would uniquely name each of the textbox's , Eg textbox 1 would have a name of t_1 and the second would be t_2. hope someone can help me out. Im trying to use javascript with html and php as well in some places.
My database saves the cars make and model to the row in the database. On the "Add a Job" page, you have to enter the make and model of the car in by hand. I'm looking for a way to have these in a dropdown list, but if the make/model isn't in the list to be able to add it manually.
I can get the makes and models form the database and get them to fill a dropdown list, but then there isn't any provision for entering a make/model manually without going into PHPMyAdmin.
i figured this would probably be best done in JavaScript, but can't find any info on scriptsearch, hotscripts, etc
