Mar 15, 2011I am new to jquery. The project reuirements specify using jquery and java scripting. I have several web pages that set variables. I need to access these variables on another page.
What is the best way of doing this? Can yoy give me an example?

Nov 30, 2011I'm using Klaus Hartl's"jQuery Cookie plugin" to send variables between pages with Jquery. Works like a smile in Chrome BUT messes everything up (reloads the whole page into a one of it's div's) in FireFox and (of course) IE... Can this be accomplished without using cookies?

Jan 19, 2004I am attempting to display info put into an array from an onClick() event in a different page - I have created different functions which populate an array with different info dependant on which link the visitor clicks ie HTML Code:
<a href="nextpage.htm" onClick="functiontopopulatearray()"> SELECT</a>
The function seems to work fine, however when the next page loads and I attempt to access the array elements they are now undefined - both pages are linked to the same JS document.

I use onclicks to bring up a hidden DIV as a dialog box that blacks the background out, can I use this same line of code and pass in variables or should I create a box for each item?

Aug 23, 2009I have multiple triggers and I am trying to pass variables via a "rel=" tag (which are unique id's) for each trigger I can get most of it working, problem is that since there are multiple triggers with id="newsTrigger" only the first listed trigger works Using PHP/mySQL. An example trigger is:

The above outputs a large number of rows with the same span id of "newsTrigger". When a user mousesover any of the newsTrigges I am trying to get an ajax dialog to load up content based on the id that is being passed through the rel tag. How do I do this? The javascript so far is:

Sharing Global Variables Accross Pages
May 23, 2004I have an HTML page which loads another page inside an IFrame. Each of the two pages has its own javascript code.
I would like to be able to define one global variable which will be accessed from functions in both scripts. The variable must be single. That means that if a script in one of the pages changes it, the change will be seen by the scripts in the other page.
Pass Infor Between Web Pages In The Same Window
Nov 2, 2005I want to supply the previous page in current window with a string from
current page and the content in the previous one is changed
accordingly. I use <DIV> innerHTML to accomplish the DHTML and run
below JS in current page when deciding to go back.
window.history.go(-1);

But the "document" still refers to current page, even though I add a
document.clear() and location.replace() statements right after
window.history.go(-1).
I find the archieve of this Group mentions a few solutions for a
similar problem, however they don't seems to work for my scenario.
The first solutin is to append the string to the previous URL. But my
first page was actually loaded from a HTML file and there is no CGI
program to receive the string.
The second solution is to use cookie to pass the infor. It seems the
string is to saved in the "document" object though. Since the
"document" is not updated, I won't be better off. Another problem is
this solution requires cookie to be turned on in the browser.

Dec 8, 2010I am trying to set up a page that will allow a user to enter their name into a text field and click a submit button. When the button is clicked, the name that the user entered is passed into a cookie, and displayed on the page at the same time.
However, I am having issues getting the name (i.e. the value of the cookie) to be passed along to other pages within the site as well.
I am using jquery to code the JS with. I have the first page all set up and it works beautifully, but when I try to use the getter for the cookie on the second page I get nothing. I am using a cookie plugin for jquery that I found here.

I'm writing a function to populate a SELECT based on the select value of another SELECT. I can't figure out why this isn't working. It has something to do with not having "'s in my $(). for example: If this function wasn't dynamic.

Alerts show that the correct info is being captured.The php script is being called because it's that thats producing the grey box on the page.The problem is the text isn't being produced with the box.Am I passing the jQuery variables to PHP script correctly ? How can I check they are being received by the PHP script ?

Trying To Pass Variables In The URL?
Mar 25, 2010I'm sure there is a really, really simple way to solve this issue. I'm just not a programmer so I don't know it off the top of my head. I have this script ext.php that accepts a variable ref.[URL]..The problem is that there is also a '?' in the variable ref that I'm using. Like so:[URL]...I suspect because there is another '?' in variable ref, ext.php has a problem with it. I cannot change ext.php or sitename.asp.
So my question is, how can I make this work properly via the url? I've tried using %26 for the '?' as well as the & html escape code, but it still doesn't work.
3 Radio Variables Won't Pass / What To Do?
Aug 6, 2009I am new to Javascript and have searched the forums and can't seem to find the missing link. I have 3 radio groups, each button has a $ value, and I merely want to display the amounts that are selected from each group. I have the page up that you can view it to get a better idea code...
When I press the submit button I want it to tell me if a button has been pushed in a certain group the amount that was selected. When I press the button now nothing happens.
Looking at the preview I have used the [CODE] tags but it appears it is only allowing it on one continuous line. Please tell me how to fix that and I can change it before someone trys to debug the code.

Jun 19, 2011I have a form with allot of form items on it that posts to itself. I am trying to pass those form values to another page with out using the action attribute in the form. Is there a way to do this? I have tried jquery and javascript but coming up blank. Just trying to pass all the values at one time to another page. Seems a little difficult to me since im a intermediate javascript programmer. Here is what i am trying to do script wise. theform is the ID of the form. I have a switch statement that is based on the button pressed would get into that statement.
