I have a DIV near the bottom of my web page, but above the footer, that is hidden by default.

If I then reveal this DIV using jQuery function Show (or slideDown ), the DIV is revealed but it overlaps my footer DIV which is below it. What I want to happen is that the DIV gets pushed down (as happens in Firefox).

JQuery :: Dropdown Menu (Superfish) Overlapped By Dynamic Content Gallery In Firefox.?

Aug 26, 2010

I'm developing a website right now for a clientIssue:On the homepage, the dropdown menu for "cities" (hover over "cities") gets overlapped by the Dynamic Content Gallery (DCG), which as a result cuts off bottom portion of the dropdown. Dropdown Menus are using Superfish.The issue only occurs in Firefox. It works fine in IE, hovering over the top of the DCG slide (weird, right?).Screenshot in FirefoxScreenshot in IEI was thinking it could be corrected by adjusting the z-index of the dropdown menu, but decided I would ask here first before I get in over my head.Attachments IE-Screenshot.jpgSize : 120.0 KB Download : 358Firefox-Screenshot.jpgSize : 119.87 KB Download : 353

JQuery :: AddClass - Change The Color Of Surrounding Text Of The Disabled Radio Button To The Color Grey

Feb 8, 2010

I have this markup:

[Code]...

There are two radio buttons, sometimes one will be disabled, other times the other will be disabled. I would like to make a script that: First: Changes the color of surrounding text of the disabled radio button to the color grey. Second: Checks the other radio button.

This was my plan: I would make a script that: First: Removes all the current classes and add the class "greyed_out" (or better: change only the color of) the parent element, all siblings and children of siblings (if any) of the radio button that is disabled at that time.Second: Sets the attribute "checked to the other radio button". I made a script, but when I set the bottom radio button to disabled the script doesn't work:

JQuery :: Div Layers And Zindex?

May 7, 2010

now my question: I have designed a layout that has a menu in a left div layer (#left-area). When clicking on a link, it creates and opens a new div layer in the right div area (#right-area).

Each of the layers is draggable, sizable etc, but my problem is that the order they are created, is the order the z-index is set as. Explained: if i open "link 1", then "link 2", the "link 2" div will always be on top of the "link 1" div. I want the ability to change the order (z-index??), of the layer just by clicking on the layer, so that if i click on the "link 1" layer, it will bring that to the front, and the "link 2" layer will appear below it.

There must be a way to do this... i have seen examples at pupunzi.com . Is there a way to do it with jQuery. I have searched everywhere, but i cannot see the function/command.

JQuery :: Keeping Floating Layers Within Window / Viewport

Aug 18, 2010

I'm working on a mysql browser / edit-in-place app which presents the user with a floating UI (think lightbox), that contains widgets appropriate for the given field they've clicked on.

Presently, rather than centering the UI element like a lightbox however, I find it best to keep it relative to their mouse, so that they don't have to traverse halfway across the screen with their mouse to interact with the interface if they've clicked something (for instance) on the bottom left.

The problem however should be apparent: if they click something towards the bottom of the screen, we need to adjust the css top/left properties so that the UI remains within the viewable area and doesn't run beyond the viewport, if possible. I've seen this done tons of times with tooltips.

I've thrown some basic awareness together using$(window).height() / width(), but if anyone could point me to a maturealgorithmfor harvesting the appropriate offset.

Additional Color Array For Background Color Change On Mouseover

have been trying to rework this to call additional, independent sets of colors to cycle through (so it would loop thru a set of grays, a set of primary colors, etc). I would use perhaps a different function name in the HTML to call different sets of colors. If this is more complex than I think it is, I think 3 sets would be plenty. demo link of script in current state at bottom)

Passing A Color Value From Color Picker To A PHP Form Variable?

Feb 12, 2009

I have a script which uses a colorpicker in which the user can select a color, and in the preview section the color of one div is changed to this color value. This is done by a javascript function of the color picker. called setcolor. The code for this function is given below:

function setColor(color) {
var inp = document.getElementById("pageSurround");
inp.style.backgroundColor = color;
}

Now I want that the value 'color'(used above to set bg color for the element 'pageSurround') is passed to a form variable named 'in_backgroundColor'(the color picker is being invoked in a PHP Script) so that this value can be stored in the database. How should this be coded.

Change Background Color And Font Color?

Feb 11, 2009

I have a form which contains FOUR text fields (e.g. TEXTFIELD1, TEXTFIELD2, TEXTFIELD3 & TEXTFIELD4). Each text field holds a HEX,DEC color value. ABOVE this form I have a table with TWO ROWS (ROW1 and ROW2). ROW1 should correspond with TEXTFIELD1, so that when the VALUE in TEXTFEILD1 is changed the background color of ROW1 will change to match the HEX,DEC VALUE entered in TEXTFIELD1. The same would happen with TEXTFIELD2 and ROW2. TEXTFIELD3 should be used to change the color of the TEXT inside ROW1 and TEXTFIELD4 should change the color of the TEXT in ROW2. I also wanted to know if it would be possible to achieve this without clicking any button.

Onmouseout And Layers

Dec 9, 2005

I have a DIV that becomes visible when a link above it is moused over.

The DIV has links in it like so:

<div class="popup" onmouseout="hideLayer(this);">
<a class="popuplink" href="page1.html">Link 1</a><br/>
<a class="popuplink" href="page2.html">Link 2</a><br/>
<a class="popuplink" href="page3.html">Link 3</a><br/>
<a class="popuplink" href="page4.html">Link 4</a><br/>
</div>

When you mouse out of the div, it goes back into hidden. But as soon as I
touch any of the links, it hides, thinking I've left the DIV.

Now, I'm assuming this is a z-index layer issue, but I've tried every
combination of things I could think of to prevent the mouseout action when
mouseing over one of the links.

I tried setting div.popup's z-index higher than a.popuplink's, lower than
a.popuplinks, and the same as. (I did set each to a position as well.)

What am I missing?
