How I can implement JQuery UI Tabbs into my WordPress Blogs Side Bar. What would be the most appropriate place to ask this question as I have zero experience with any of this and I am using the Genesis Framework for my Blog which can be found here[url]
I have followed David Power's tutorial on linking to specific tabs in an Accoridion widget.
I have got a test page working: [URL] which links to specific stories on my news page.
My problem is, I'm adding news stories in the accordion panel, so the newest story goes on the top.
Javascript counts the top panel as 0, the second panel as 1 etc etc.
So if I was to add a new panel, any previous links I have to the top panel would be to the wrong story.
My question is, Is there anyway of counting from the bottom panel up? Or any other workaround that people can think of eg: giving each panel a unique identifier so that the links remain the same even when new stories are added.
I already have most of the code to successfully float my sidebar and make it follow your scrollbar. The problem I have however, is that there is a small margin between the sidebar and the footer when the scrollbar reaches its end.How do I correct this little margin? Nothing, that important but I do want to fix it badly.
I'm having issues with jquery and the tabs I'm using. My tabs work but... I want some more functions and that seems to be a big problem for a Javascript and jquery newby.
I really don't know if this is correct but it works! What doesn't work is the active class. If you use one of the buttons in the first tab you go to the right tab but the tab itself has no class called active and that ruins the style.
2) I also have one other question: lets say that all the above is my second page and I have my frontpage in which I also have buttons. I want somebody to use the button and end up in the third tab of page 2. My link is something like
Code: page2.html#tab3
I read that using this should lead you the third tab but it's not working for me. You go to the first tab of page 2 instead.
I've been reading a LOT! Jquery for dummies, I googled, read the forum and other forums. I posted on a Dutch forum but no answer. I've added a lot of different code but it doesn't work.
I have nested tabs in jquery tabs which are pretty simple to do if we want static jquery tabsbut what if we want nested tabs that the remote page should decide what would be the tabs.or in other words i want nested tabs in a remote page (or ajaxified) For example i m calling this page(remote page) through tabs
I am using jQuery tabs and when I have very long content within the tabs, my browsers scroll bar reflects the content in the tab with the most content.
Example, "Tab 1" & "Tab 3" has a very long scroll bar, even though it has no content (because of Tab 2) and you can scroll down through the empty space
[URL]
Is there a way I can hide the content in Tab 2 so that my browsers scroll bar displays correctly in relation to the content in the active tab?
Another quick question re. the JQuery sidebar I have on my Google map. I would like to link to individual markers from different websites or via email, so would like to convert for example, the 'javascript:myclick(7)' link on the menu to an external URL that will click to the marker and info box containing the video. Is this possible?I have tried something like [URL].. but that doesn't seem to work. Does someone know of anotherwayto do this?[URL]...
If you by chance happen to have a SVG-enabled release of Mozilla handy (:)), take a look at the zip file attached to my reply on this thread (can't attach multiple files per reply).
It accepts any Javascript constant and method for input (graphing f(x) = Math.random()*x gets interesting).
And is basically really cool - the XUL interface is pretty slick imho too (was originally written in XHTML 1.1, but decided to learn XUL and rewrite it in it for fun).
And for even more fun - I define the example conic equations using presentation MathML 2.0 :D.
Anyway, I need to implement 2 things before it becomes really usable:
1. zooming - easy enough with the SVGTransform interface 2. changing the x-min/x-max, y-min/y-max box settings - which is also easy enough via SVGTransform.
If you regularly used a SVG-enabled Mozilla, what would you like to see in the sidebar calculator application?
I'm looking to add a "widget" to a website, but do not want to add to every page. Is there a way to add it to the main page and the entire site displays it. The site has many static pages
I want to use something like what is displayed on this website [url]...
<?php if ( is_404() || is_category() || is_day() || is_month() || is_year() || is_search() || is_paged() ) {?> <li> <?php /* If this is a 404 page */ if (is_404()) { ?>
[Code].....
how I can clean it up a bit, since there is stuff in there I don't think I need. I would like it to only be "Nyheder", under this there shall be (as now) a list of post, shown by which month they where made.
I have a site that I'm building that I would like to have a scrollable sidebar using jQuery. I've attached the Photoshop concept screenshot showing the sidebar.
I have a sidebar application, I am using an IM functionality inside this sidebar. When a user is logging in, the connection with chat server will generate on this sidebar. The sidebar itself acts as a parent window. When a user click on the IM icon inside the sidebar, a child Pop up window will open. The child Pop up window uses the connection objects from the Parent sidebar. When closing this child Pop up window, the sidebar hangs. When I tried to reopen the child Popup window, the Pop up window also hangs for a long time. But I can not find the exact reason behind this hanging of sidebar, after closing the Pop up window.
I haven't used much Javascript before and I have a question about the following code. I've taken it from this tut [URL] and changed it a bit so it applies an expand/collapse functionality to a floating sidebar on the side of a website I'm working on.
When I remove the background on the toggle function, it refuses to come back. I have a feeling it's a simple solution, I just don't know what syntax to fill into the second part of the conditional to restore the background image. I've tried display, show, an actual path to the image...
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> function toggle() { var bar = document.getElementById('floater'); var barText = document.getElementById('f_news');
I've been experimenting with accordion nav in the bottom of the sidebar on this site. I got it from this work put up by Marco van Hylckama Vlieg, and I think he's done a good job. At a glance, it looks like my menu works, but as you click around, you will see it is not consistent at remembering which section of the menu to leave open - it should remember its state. It uses cookies, and I wonder if there is a problem with that, or a conflict with other scripts on the site (this is a Squarespace site). I'm hoping a js expert might see an obvious problem. I asked Marco, but he saw no problem. I've tried it on several machines and always had problems.
I'm having trouble figuring out why content isn't showing up on the 2nd and 3rd tabs of a tabbed content section embedded on a page. The content shows fine for the first tab but not at all for 2 and 3.
Page of tabbed content is [URL].. It's an OsCommerce site using STS Templates for the pages. Here's the code:
This isn't really a beginner question. I need to build a webpage that has some form elements on it. These form elements act like filters on a set of page elements. Several input element can be grouped as one of many filters. For example six checkboxes are filter 1 and a radiobutton and a pulldown element are filter 2.
When the user makes some changes in these filters a server request is send and an answer is send back with the result. Depending on the result every filter (group of elements) need to be re-initialized to reflect the new model state on the server.
So my question is: Is it right to see the filters as widgets in a Jquery UI sense? Or is it more appropriate to just see them as plugins. Can someone please share some insight?
I integrated JQuery UI, and I have the JQuery tabs working. Since Joomla uses mootols, I had to include thejQuery.noConflict(); And the tabs script " $ " is replaced by JQuery.
However, when I add the Cycle widget, and I replace the $ sign for JQuery, the widget does not work. If I use the $ sign, the widget works. I want to keep my code tidy. Can somebodyenlightenme on this situation?
I want to display on the partener's website some informations contained on my serveur relative to him (i have multiple parteners) and i thought it would be great to display them like the facebook badge (it's the only example which comes to my mind)
The thing : i really don't know what to do / how to begin :
I cannot use jquery, because it would involve that the parteneer website has jQuery.
I have multiple possibilites on the source of the information :
I can cache a PHP file wich contains informations (but i have 25 parteners so it would be 25 files cached ? -> bad )
I've a XML file [url] but i don't know how to parse an xml file either :O to give you an example i just want to display on crystal-serv information contained between the <GSP> tag where nom = crystal-serv
I have a problem with width() of jQuery.Normally, width() will return an exact value of element's width instead of the percentage (if we use width: 100%).
I'm writing a widget using jQuery. I have a function to build my widget and set its width based on the outer-bound. I need the exact value of width to arrange the element inside that widget. But when using width(), it returns 100 (means 100%), not the value in pixel (must be 1200px).
I have recently downloaded a custom jQuery UI Pack, only using core and tab widget. On the examples in the index.html file, everything loads fine. Then I copy the files to my website directory, (all locally) and the images files just contain a question mark.
I was wondering if someone can help me out here. I was wondering if its possible to get this Jquery Image Slider to fit a 250x250 Pixels I want to create a widget on Wordpress.[URL]..If possible in order to get this done we could move the control with the numbers on the bottom and keep the descriptions on top.
If this cant be done, do any of you know any 250x250 Jquery Image sliders. That can possibly work in this format? I'm trying to stay away from Flash much as possible.
the person whose site this is wants a short blip sound played whenever you roll over the links in the sidebar. I know it's not advised, but she insists. I've tried implementing a few scripts but no luck in Firefox or Chrome.
I transorm it to autocomplete widget$('#f').autocomplete()How to access widget's methods and properties by id of the field?I need to access initialized widget to call some of its methods, modify properties etc.
