Nov 1, 2010You have an AJAX request and the response is mixed HTML + JavaScript. The javascript is referring to elements in the HTML component. Currently the JavaScript gets evaluated first thing when success is triggered and the HTML is returned as a parameter. Obviously this is not going to work ( in this scenario anyway ). As a previous Mootools user I was used to Request.HTML's responseJavaScript parameter and evalScripts option. None of there options are available in the $.ajax implementation.
P.S. I know I could make the javascript a file and load it separately. I know I can make my response JSON and have the js and html in separate properties of the JSON object. I want neither.
JQuery :: Insert Iframe - Don't Have To Reload The Page When The Menu Item Is Clicked
Apr 11, 2011I currently have a website with a number of menu items, many of which result in the main site being redisplayed but with an iframe being inserted somewhere within the middle of the page. The iframe is initially loaded as hidden but there is a JavaScript 'onload' routine which calculates the height of the iframe and then makes it visible in order to avoid the iframe showing scrollbars since the content of the iframe is variable.
Roughly, things look like this:
Menu button: reloads main page and passes one or more parameters, e.g. [url]
Then elements of the main page including the menu are displayed. Then, if specified by the relevant 'func' parameter the iframe is shown using code similar to the following:
This works fine but I was wondering whether there is any way of using jQuery such that I don't have to reload the page when the menu item is clicked. In other words, you'd click on the menu item and the relevant iframe would be inserted within the middle of the website, automatically sized.

Now I want to write a jQuery function which gets the ID of the SongListItem div that has Selected="True". So far, I have tried:

and
var SongID= $('.SongListItem[selected="True"]').get(0).attr("id");
In both cases, I get a "Object does not support this method."

I am having a dropdown box which has 2 option. Option 1 and Option 2.
And I have few checkboxes with same name. Depending upon the dropdown selection it should show/hide some checkboxes. Using javascript and CSS these are working fine.
The problem I am having is with the Select All function. If I check Select All it checks the hidden field also. The requirement is to select only the fields which are visible not the hidden one. Please suggest me how to do this.
Example
Here Value 3 and value 4 are common. If I select option Select Item 1 Value 1 will show and value 2 will be hide. If I select all it should not select value 2. As the name is common its selecting that also. It should not select value 2. This is the requirement

I'm trying to apply the "selected" attribute to items that are chosen from the menu, so that if "Home Page #2" is selected, the "selected" attribute will be applied to "Home page #2" once you arrive at "Home Page #2". I've follow a few simple tutorials with no luck and even tried php conditionals to trigger the "selected" attribute with no luck.
