JQuery :: Validation Plugin - Cannot Check Email Fields
Jan 6, 2011Basically I'm using the plugin to validate a form. I've got the basics set up and working. Now I'm trying to use remote so that I can check for a duplicate email address. The problem is as soon as I add my checking script the validation stops working on the email field completely. It constantly says "please enter a valid email address" no matter what I put in the field. If I don't have the remote bit in my code the email field validation works correctly. Jun 27, 2010I don't quiet understand how to require a valid email address to be entered into a particular field.
There is documentation for what I wish to achieve here[code]...
But I'm having trouble understanding it.
For a start, I can't quiet tell from examining the demo how a particular field is required to have a valid email address.
I can't tell how the script picks up which particular fields are required to have which rules.
JQuery :: Validation Plugin - Dependent Warnings Of Telephone And Email Disappear In Real Time When At Least One Is Compiled?

Name
Telephone
Email
I need Name to be always compiled and at least Telephone or Email. Here you can find a sample page: test If I submit without compiling it gives me the warnings. If I compile Name, the relative warning disappears in real time. If I compile, for example, Telephone, the relative warning disappears in real time, but not the Email one. Th Email one disappears only if I press the submit button that will correctly submit the page because there are no more exceptions. Is there any way to make the dependent warnings of Telephone and Email disappear in real time when at least one is compiled?
Compactor / Obfuscator
Apr 16, 2007I would like to find a good JavaScript compactor/obfuscator.
Obfuscation is not important to me really, but I would like a
compactor that understands variables and functions in a way that it
can shorten the names. I would also like for the compactor to be able
to shorton the property/method names of custom objects if such a thing
exists.
I have seen several compactors around, but most of them have varying
levels of compression that don't seem to be very customisable. Again,
obfuscation is not a must, although any good compactor should
obfuscate the code within reason anyway. If anyone uses GMail, and has
seen the code, that serves as a good guide to what I'd like to see
happen with my code.

Jul 23, 2005I'm playing with downloading javascript to my phone, over the providers
email service.
It's rather slow.
Is there anything that will compress javascript, doing things like
reducing identifiers to short unique strings, killing spaces and
redundant braces, removing comments, ...
Things that work around repeated use of long built-in functions would
be nice too.
The eventual aim is to run scripts on the phone (NEC e313) to allow
(with the aid of an web-email proxy) somewhat limited browsing,
to get past the networks firewall.
They have signed up various content providers (none of which I have
any interest whatsoever in) to provide exclusive content, so won't
allow general web access, which is a bit annoying.
Bandwidth can go below 1K/s or so, so every little bit extra is nice.

However, this will work fine when calling with a link "javascript:validate('inputForm');" but if I try to prevent users by submitting form with pressing enter I put it in form onSubmit parameter: <form .. onSubmit="javascript:validate('inputForm');"> which will check the forms and submit data (do return) no matter if it matched or no.
How To Have Email Form Send Email And Start File Download
Apr 29, 2006Last week after much searching, I found the answer to my problem in
this newsgroup. I can't find the thread from which I got my solution,
but I wanted to report back what worked.
When the site visitor fills out the form and submits it, this calls a
rather ordinary asp script like formmail.asp that sends the emails and
displays a "thank you" web page. At the very end of my "thank you" web
page I placed the following:

This causes the file download to get triggered, and asks the user if
they want to save the file. In limited testing this appears to work
fine in both Firefox and IE.

Nov 11, 2011I'm a mediocre website designer i know html , at JS i'm to noob to actualy make something of my own :) just Edit, i'm still learning and atm i'm working on a web project and I'm struggling to find a way to Filter email addresses to redirect my New Members to their e-mail provider, for example if they would register newmmember@hotmail.com to be forwarded to www.hotmail.com so they would login and activate their account, or if they enter @yahoo.com to be forwarded there . Can you please point out a few things i'm eager to learn how to Forward User to email provider after he creates his account . Or how can i forward email to URL inside my webpage , this could help me with another ideea i have, again this would have to be filtered @yahoo.com , @hotmail.com etc , to be forwarded to a local URL inside the site depending on what Email Provider they enter .

Aug 18, 2011I have a slideshow plugin and there is a function in it called stopAutoplay(). This is called when I click on the pre-defined pause button in the slideshow, so it stops.
If I switch between the slideshows(Slideshow 1 2 3) the slideshow is getting messier and messier because it starts many slideshows at the same time and the plugin gets confused what to show.
I figured if I click on the pause button before I switch to another slideshow it works fine. Therefore what I would like to achieve now is to call stopAutoplay() somehow before I switch to the new slides.
How can I call stopAutoplay() from the html file when I click on one of the slideshow 1 2 3 buttons?
I've tried the codes in green below but they don't work.

Jul 12, 2011I am creating an extension plugin to the jQuery UI Date Picker plugin mostly to just standardize the options used, as well as to add an icon to open the calendar. I am aware of the plugin's use of an icon trigger, but this will not work, as I am using an icon in my sprite image and not wanting an additional request for a mere icon.

This is where it really perplexes me as this code does work to produce the calendar icon. while I could get it to work this way, it is obviously not the better choice as it should be part of the extension plugin and not get repeated in all of my various implementations of the plugin.
