Aug 28, 2009I would like to link each image in the cycle to a specific page.I got it to cycle and everything is working fine. I just want it so that the actual image is clickable.

JQuery :: Creating Slideshow Using Cycle Plugin?
Feb 15, 2011I'm creating a slideshow using the Cycle plugin. I'm using Prev / Next options to trigger the transitions and also "alt" attribute to show some metadata on each slide. My question is: Can I use some other metadata to show captions with links in it? I followed [URL] to create this slideshow, but I can't see how to implement links on captions.

May 28, 2011I am new to jquery in anycase I have a db with information about the location of pictures, and I want to use that information to create a gallery with transition effects using the cycle plugin. Right now I can get the info that I need into the <img src=""/> using the code I have, the problem is it keeps giving empty values along with the actual values. To check what was happening I included a navigation bar for each picture and even though I should have 3 results in my query, I am getting 5 pages i.e. the extra ones are empty. I want to know if this problem is because of my php or something wrong I have done with the jquery.

JQuery :: Cycle Plugin Pause On Hover Links AND Images
Feb 23, 2011I'm testing out the cycle plugin, I wanted to have it so the slideshow would pause on hovering over both the pagination links and the image. With the below code right now only the bottom slideshow pauses on hovering over the links but does not pause on hovering over the images as the top slideshow does. I seem to be running into problems combining the two, can you take a look? I want to keep the previous and next links and for them to be functional also.

JQuery :: Cycle Plugin: Anchor Links Fail Using Lite Version
Jun 22, 2011I noticed that image anchors do not work when using the lite version of jQuery Cycle(jquery.cycle.lite.min.js) . I am referring to this example: [URL]
I copied all the code from the example and couldn't get it to work, out of desperation I switched to using jquery.cycle.all.js and the anchors instantly began working. It seems the lite version only drops the opacity on inactive slides, because clicking any slide uses the anchor href from slide 1.
EDIT: Just tested with the other versions of Cycle, and found all the other versions of cycle work flawlessly.. curious :

As you can see, I'm using a div tag in place of an image and setting the image as the BG of the div. Then I'm overlaying some text and links on the "slide". When I click the links however, the result is animation invocation rather than link target invocation. The div click event is takingprecedenceover the link click event. Is there a built in handler in the Cycle library to handle this?

Jul 21, 2009I am having an issue with pausing the cycle from links within the cycle. I have set up a cycle that contains a html contentent including a 'video playlist'. This is a javascript based list that updates a flash video player with a new video inside the cycle. The videos are loading fine, but for some reason when i call the cycle 'pause', it dosent work? i have testing the $('#feature').cycle('pause'); from a link outside the cycle and that seems to be working, but it seems to be from the links inside the cycle content. here is the code i am using (i have made a custom crossfade transition)

Aug 14, 2009I define a cycle in document.ready as per usual. In my cycle I have different sets of images that i want to cycle through and only want certain ones to cycle as selected using the slideExpr option.
Is there a way to change this option from:
SlideExpr: 'a'
To:
SlideExpr: 'b'
Another alternative i've considered is to make a cycle of cycles.
JQuery :: Cycle Plugin To Cycle Through Entire Divs ?
Jun 30, 2011I've worked though a lot of issues trying to get the jQuery cycle plugin working in a relatively complex situation but have hit yet another wall.
Basically, I'm trying to get the jQuery Cycle plugin to cycle through entire divs, each one of which contains yet another slider platform built in jQuery. The first div always displays exactly as it should but when I click to transition, the elements within the second div appear stacked instead of side by side on the slider as they should. I've tried modifying the CSS in every way I can think of to prevent this, but so far, no dice.
I'm not sure whether its an element of the CSS for the second slider platform (wp e-commerce product slider) or one of the two platforms themselves. One thing I did notice was that one of the inner slider divs "gallery_slider" is automatically being set to 90px wide which is way too thin, but I can't seem to figure out how to override this if that is actually the problem.

Jul 12, 2011I am creating an extension plugin to the jQuery UI Date Picker plugin mostly to just standardize the options used, as well as to add an icon to open the calendar. I am aware of the plugin's use of an icon trigger, but this will not work, as I am using an icon in my sprite image and not wanting an additional request for a mere icon.

This is where it really perplexes me as this code does work to produce the calendar icon. while I could get it to work this way, it is obviously not the better choice as it should be part of the extension plugin and not get repeated in all of my various implementations of the plugin.

Aug 26, 2010I'm a bit new to jQuery but am loving it so far.. especially the cycle plugin. I have a strange problem that I've not been able to find the solution to anywhere else. Everything works just fine with the exception of one issue thats causing me problem. I'm using cycle to control 3 different fading animations on my page. On 2 of the animations I'd like to pause cycle after the image fades out for a few seconds but before cycle fades the next image in. The catch is that I want the timing to be different for each pause before the next cycle begins.
The goal is for#hpcontent,#hphead,#hpfade3to fade out all at the same time. Then for#hphead to pause for 2 seconds before it fades in the next random image, and#hpfade3to pause for 3 seconds before it fades in the next random image

JQuery :: Creating A Favorite Links Menu, Removing Cloned Content?
Nov 18, 2010I have several drop down lists of links with one of the drop downs being a "My Favorites". My intent is that when the user clicks on a star image next to the links, it is cloned and appended to the favorites menu, where it can then be drag and drop sorted. To remove the link from the favorites menu, the user can either click on the "x" button to the right of the link on the favorites menu, or unselect the star on the main menus.
I have successfully cloned the link and appended it to the favorites menu by selecting the star and enabled the drag and drop sorting, but I am having trouble removing the link form the favorites menu when unselecting the star and when clicking on the "x". Here is what I have so far:

So, I clone the link, wrap it, add a drag handle and the 'x' button, give it an id of the text of the link which all works fine. I have a different part of the script that uses the drag handle to drag and drop the links...that works fine. The issues I am having are that unselecting the star does not remove the link from the favorites drop down and clicking on the 'x' does not even fire the alert. The z-index on the 'x' is higher than all the other elements in the li.
JQuery :: CSS Conflicting With Cycle Plugin?
Apr 14, 2011I am rather to JQuery, but love the possibilities. However I am finding my first experience rather vexing. The JQuery Cycle plugin works great in my site folder if I place it in a new file. But when I try to place it in my existing index page with existing CSS it displays the images on top of one another not in the div where they are placed. I can send a screenshot if that helps. I have also included my site folder with just the index page and all the files including graphics, scripts and CSS. Can any of you see where my conflict is?Also since then I added this css to the index file and got images to come together but transition does not happen:

JQuery :: Cycle Plugin With Transparent PNG IE
Jun 30, 2011I'm using the cycle plugin to crossfade a series of images that need to be transparent png files. I've got the png fix working, but in IE I can't get the images behind the first image to hide until called.
I've tried setting the display: none,-ms-filter:"progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(Opacity=0)", and filter: alpha(opacity=50), which works to hid them initially, but when they fade into 100% they disappear.
Of course this is only an IE issue, firefox and safari are fine.

Feb 19, 2009I'm trying to load the Cycle plugin with a JSON feed from Picasa.Everything is pulling in from Picasa just fine. I can copy the exact HTML that it generates and paste it into my code and reload, and it works fine, but not when it is dynamically added via Javascript.URL...Here is my javascript code that pulls in the feed from Picasa and then initializes Cycle. I also automatically generate the thumbnails for the pager here too. Does Cycle read from the raw html rather than from generated html? [code]

Oct 8, 2009I am currently developing a site for a client which uses the JQuery cycle plugin to move through a number of divs which contain pictures and info about wedding dresses. All works fine in Firefox, but when I test in IE6 + IE7 the divs are all stacked on top of each other vertically and they soan right down the screen for 1000's of pixels. To me it seems like this is a problem with absolute/relative positioning or the z-index, I have also used a few floats in the child divs. I am also using SIFR for text replacement, could this be conflicting? Here is my code, can anyone see a problem that would cause my cycle not to work in IE.?
