JQuery :: Cycle Plugin - Cycle Through Php Query_post & Display Caption From The_excerpt - Captions Do Not Effectively Cycle
Jun 23, 2011I have yet to be able to do this successfully. I am using the Cycle Plugin to cycle through a series of images and corresponding caption. To show the images, I use:

Problem: The captions do not effectively cycle. What appears is the first caption from php the_excerpt but it does not change to the next php the_excerpt text. Can I solve this problem so I get the text from php the_excerpt to correspond to each image??

JQuery :: Multiple Captions For One Image?
Feb 4, 2011I have been using Flash to create a slide show that starts with a single image. Then the image caption slides up from the bottom followed by a longer description coming in from the right side of the image (which includes links in the text). The description and caption then slide away, and a new image is transitioned into the old image's place. Is it possible to create something like this with jQuery? The s3slider jQuery plugin is very similar to what I'm looking for, but I can't seem to get two captions to appear over the same image.

Sep 19, 2011I'm working on a component for Joomla in which I'm using jQuery. My problem is that when another component loads jQuery after mine, all plug-ins I'm using are being overwritten by the last jQuery initialization.
I have 2 possible solutions:
1. Load all add-ons on document ready or basically AFTER any jQuery initializations in the HEAD of the document
2. Rename the jQuery static object to something else (like myJQuery for example) and then extend it with the plugins.
The 2nd option somewhat guarantees me that my object will be properly initialized with all the code I need, but it mothers me that it may overload the browser in some way.

However I want to have three upload form instances so that the users can upload three pictures and see the thumbnails for each image they upload.The problem is, this javascript specifically sets the id's of the html fields in use. For instance, "demo-portrait" is the id of the image tag and it is also referred to within the javascript itself. So if I create another image field with an id "demo-portrait-2", the script wouldn't work for this second field.

my question is: for each request, you have to create a separate XMLHttpRequest, right?

this works, but I the script I am working on is going through every DIV with a certain class and adding links to the div, I want the button to change something within the div where it is located so I need to pass the id of the parent div. I thought perhaps there was someway to find the id of the button pressed?
