I have a div container containing an image that shall disappear by an on-click event. But if the user won't do the click after 3 seconds, the image shall disapper by itself - using delay(). How can I combine these actions? I wasn't able to solve the problem with the bind()-functionality, but probably I misunderstood that?
me problem didn't seem that complicated to me, but it seems, like it is (at least to me):I'd like to animate a list (ul ul) to fadeIn and slideDown at the same time using animate.
I have an input field where the user will type in their name and a number, and this is then output (in real time) in another 2 input fields as they type them.
I am trying to animate the output text, so when the user types in their name, the letters fadeIn (quickly so it seems like they're flashing in) rather than just appearing.
The code I have for this at the moment is as follows (the bits in bold is what I would like to animate).
I've tried numerous ways to get the above effect. In essence what I want is:
function timedCount() { picker = (picker + 1) % quotes.length; // 3...4...1...2...3...4...1...2... napFor = quotes[picker].length * 150; // Delay based on string length
[code]....
This appears to work right... for a while. Then it just gets all out of synch with itself, fading in and out the same quote, switching quotes and then fading the new one in and out.
I have a toggle animation which puts the area I want to show to the user in view, ones that animation has played I want to animate several other objects on the page. I have the code to animate one object by using the callback function in animate. But is it possible to animate several objects in the callback function?. this is the code I have so far
I use the wonderful .animate() method to create a "parallax website". It's still in developpement, but you can see the result : www.ohnewgarden.fr My problem : When you are at the very right, the animate effect reset my left property before animating. Which is weird is that this "reset" is applied only to two layers, without any sense. I'm going crazy !
So if someone could help me, it will be very nice ! It's probably my code which is wrong, but I can't see the mistake.
[Code]...
I said for my defense, I have tried to remove .stop(), tried to change parameters of .stop(), tried to reset (like there) the left property with a .css() method, and I have also tried to animate with "+=" (like there), but nothing works. If you follow to the link I gave, you could see very easily by clicking on "Contact" and after animation by clicking on "Accueil".
I have a div that has a negative top margin and a negative right margin. The right margin is because I want to have the div slide onto the page from the right. The top margin is because without it my page height is the height of the visible elements plus the height of the off-screen div.On a button click, I move the div down and then animate it onto the screen from the right. On button click again, I animate the div to the right, off the screen, and then move it up. I also toggle its width & padding so it will appear to grow/shrink as it moves on/off screen. At least that's what I am trying to do. The animation onto the screen looks good, but going off the screen, it appears to happen intantaneously, instead of animatedDoes anyone know how I can fix this?
$(".addPanels").live("click", function(){//now and in the future, show the add panels menu var thisAddPanelsMenu = $(this).parent().prev(".addPanelsMenu");//get the addPanelsMenu if(thisAddPanelsMenu.length) {//if the addPanelsMenu exists
Is there a way to combine selectors with && condition. eg: $('.classname div[att=value]') Requirement is to select all div elements with class 'classname' and (&&)an attribute 'att' whose value is 'value'
Currently I am using the following code in order to update two separate divs on my page. However I would like to combine them so when the first call executes, the PHP page will return the result for both portions and then the javascript can parse and update the two divs. Is this possible?
Is it possible to join two jQuery objects to make a new object. For example... var e1 = $("#firstObject"); var e2 = $("#secondObject"); var combined = e1.add(e2); // This is the expression I'm looking for [URL]
I have multiple PHP Validators on a form element which will be exuteted one after another. Each Validator configures his part in the plugin. (Validator for strlen, username exists etc.) My problem ist that I donĀ“t have an object which collects the rules and wrapps it in $("#myform").validate(). he Result is, I have multiple $("#myform").validate() and that does not work.
Is there a way to use the Plugin only on one element? In the examples I found it selects the form only.
i'm trying to combine features of these 2 demos: [URL] specifically, i want the ability to use custom error messages and to declare conditions in the page head, as in the 1st demo, as well as to use the accordion feature of the 2nd. if i use the code from the milk demo in the head, e.g.,
$(document).ready(function() { // validate signup form on keyup and submit var validator = $("#signupform").validate({
[code]....
validation runs on the entire form, including the sections not yet made visible. this prevents the 'next' button from operating, so the accordion won't expand. if i assign a unique id to the each fieldset & run separate validations for each fieldset, the accordion works, but the validation stops working.
I have 5 divs on a page all with the class of "cases". I want all these divs to fadein one second after the previous one loaded. To accomplish this I tried the following;
I'm running into a problem in which I have a nav menu that allows you to click on menu items (about, links, etc) and this makes a corresponding content div fade in and the others fade out. I set all the content divs to initially display: none; which works, but the problem is that when I click on a nav item for the first time since page refresh, all the content pokes through and then fades out, rather than just the one I want fading in. The selected div stays visible, but I want to get rid of this problem!
If I change all my code to use css() instead of trying to change img tags with the attr() function, I need to figure out how fadein and fadeout work. The code I have now doesn't work right. It is supposed to start with 1.jpg showing and then fade that out and show 2.jpg in it's place.
When I leave out the fadein of the new image the first image appears and then fades out like it should but when I add the fadeout function it displays the second image and then fades it out even though it is the inner div with a class instead of the outer div with id which should display the first image.
I'm doing some online tutorials and simple tasks.I'm getting an error on the function .fadein.can someone please tell me what is wrong with this code.[code]
I'm about to embark on really learning jQuery. The first step of which is to get a basic jquery function to work. Everytime I learn something this way the first thing does not work for no apparent reason. It's probably something obvious but I can't move on without getting this to work. I added jquery to the page I have two things a div called #content-container and an image with class .logo
