JQuery :: Can't Read Date Node From XML

I want to parse the RSS XML into HTML. I can read all of the node using .text() method, the only one missing the the date node (both 'lastbuilddate' and 'pubdate' node), it just return nothing, I think it did not hold anything or read from this node.?
Below XML is a partially from this XML [URL]. It's just the date note (as mention above) not working, all other node is working fine.

I have an xml doc with several MedicalBill nodes. Each MedicalBill node has a billDate attribute.
I'm able to make an ajax call to load the MedicalBills xml data. I can also get the value of the billDate for each MedicalBill node as follows:
$(xml).find("MedicalBill").each(function()
{
alert($(this).attr("billDate"));
});
What I'm trying to figure out now is how to get the MedicalBill node with the max bill date from the xml file. For example, if one MedicalBill node has a billDate of 05/01/2011 and a second MedicalBill node has a billDate of 08/01/2011 then I want the easiest way to get a handle to the MedicalBill node with the greatest billDate - in this case 08/01/2011.

I have a form like this:

<input type="file" id="myfile" />
The first two fields obviously contain text data, and the last is a file upload field.I can get the values of the first two fields in JavaScript easily by using:

var forename = document.getElementById("forename").value;
var surname = document.getElementById("forename").value;
But I don't have a clue how to get the contents of the file uploaded.
If I use:

var myfile = document.getElementById("myfile").value;
That simply returns the filename of the file, but I want the actual data in the file!Now I realise that the data probably isn't even accessed from the users hd until the form is submitted properly and sent to a server-side script (which I'm not doing), so I probably need a hackish method to make the browser send the contents to the JS function rather than as an extra 'package' to the server.

I would like to get get some data which format is "XML" and it is returned from an API. However, the $.ajax() doesn't work in this case? But the same code works when the "XML format" data is from an XML file. Can anyone tell me why?

I'm using jsTree-0.9.9a. As a test this is the code i'm using to display the ID
oncreate: function(NODE, REF_NODE, TYPE, TREE_OBJ, RB)

parent_id = $(REF_NODE).attr('id');
alert(parent_id)
}}
This works fine when the parent has no child nodes, however, when a child node exists nothing is returned.

I have a start date and end date text boxs. What I would like to achieve is when a submit button is clicked all the available dates between start and end dates should be displayed together with 3 check boxes next to each date (please see below). I am trying to add a new node in XML using jQuery. Following code works fine in Firefox, Safari and Chrome but giving error in IE8:

The error description on IE8 is "Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment".
Is there a way to fix this on IE8?

I have a tabular data that updated via ajax (using table and input).I have inputs that looks like this
<input type='text' name='birthDate' class='datepicker' value='....'/>
this input generated by ajax or added dynamically.
on js : $('.datepicker').datepicker();
but it seems it is not working with new <input> and i need to call $ ('.datepicker') datepicker(); again everytime i add new <input>
is there any way to make sure that new added (by ajax) has datepicker as well? i am using jquery 1.3.2 and ui 1.7.2

I can't seem to find a function or method that will return the "name" of the currently selected node or element in an xml dom. The text and attribute value is accessible but I can't access the name of the element itself. tagName() doesn't work tagId doesn't .

I have added a booking form to a website with belongs to fastbooking.You can see a temporary website here. http:[url]....It works perfectly fine in Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera and Safari but it does not load on Internet Explorer.On the other browsers the form loads todays date and the year is generated but on IE the date stays on 01-01 and no year is generated.I'm using wordpress as a cms.I think the code that is not loading is <body onLoad='start();'>But I'm not sure. The code of the year is
<select name='fromyear' class="input" onChange='update_departure();'>
<option value="0"></option>
</select> But since it's no just the year I assume its the onload code.
I tried to add the onload to the header function like this
<body onLoad='start();' <?php if(function_exists('body_class')) body_class(); ?>>
So now wordpress generates the following code when it loads the page
<body onLoad='start();' class="home page page-id-6 page-template page-template-default logged-in">
But sadly the date still does no load on Internet Explorer.

We have a little callendar on our website. I have set the format of the date to "dd-mm-y" because I want the date to be saved europian, not american. When comfirming the form, the date is saved as 0000-00-00. The date shows correctly on the form itself. I have two scripts: Calendar.js and Calendar-en-GB.js. Calendar-en-GB.js contains the 'settings'. (Including date format). I can't figure out the problem and thought maybe one of you could. I have uploaded the scripts in one .zip file: [URL]

I am trying to append to a text node(which is contained in another element) a string but i canot. Here is the code-tell me please where is the error below because i cannot spot it.The containing element is a div class with name calendar, as you can see. Inside the calendar the current month is displayed(not shown here-which i get with the date object), i want to append to the month the test p.

I've recently moved over from Protoype and was used to using the update() function to replace text within a node - something like
this:
PROTOTYPE
<p id='dText'>text to be replaced
$('dText').update('New text string')
[code]....
Now it appears to me that in jQuery, there isn't an out of the box function to replace the contents of a node without also replacing the
node too, hence the reason I am chaining remove() and append().

I need to return the current value of the selected video-thumb li, so if I click on the 2nd li return id is 2. What I currently have returns 2 if I select both the first and second li. I will eventually need to fire a different function depending on the selected li.
