What I want to be able to do is have a list box (<select></select>) that when I select one of them will insert certain text into a text box below it.
For example, in the drop down menu I would have 3 choices. 1, 2 and 3. If I selected 1 then the number "1" would appear in the textbox and etc etc.
I'm not very familiar with Javascript, only PHP and ASP. I want to be able to have a user click an image and have text be inserted into the textbox where the cursor is at.

The need is in a content management system, I want to be able to insert the code for an image, from a drop down menu listing the images, into the textbox containing that areas content.
How can I change a checkbox status instead of inserting a value in a text box? As it is now the script below just inserts a 1 or 0 in a textbox.

I want to call the click event of the link (anchor tag) on the click of the button. I used this code below in the click event of button to call links click event and it works fine in IE.

But, this doesn't work in Firefox. I googled a bit and found that in firefox, you have to do something more to achieve this behaviour. So, I ended up doing this on button click to work in firefox:

The above code does the click on link when I click on the button. But my problem now is that I have defined a link as

and when click is called and mailto links opens my email client, it somehow ignores the subject and body parameters of the link. It works properly when i actually click a link element. but it doesn't work when i simulate the click event by code written above. above dispatching event code somehow ignores the link parameters?

Actually, in my page, i've two text boxes and while entering some input string in the first text box, auto-suggestions comes up using AJAX and on clicking on the auto-suggested list, the value of the <li> item clicked on becomes the value of the text box. View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to produce a web form to allow wedding guests to RSVP. The form allows them to enter a name and select from a radio button whether they will be attending or not. If they select the "yes" radio button then a further pair of radio buttons are displayed for their meal preference.
They can then click a submit button or they can click another button to add another line for another guest which operates in exactly the same way. I've almost got this working, but it seems that the checkbox change handler is lost for the current guest when a new guest is added and the checkbox value is reset. I've got a feeling I'm doing something stupid but can't for the life of me figure out what.

What happens is that when I click on a button, a random string from the RandomString variable appears below the button. e.g I click on the button and it displays 'AAB' and then if I click on the button again it may display 'AAE' and etc.
The problem is that sometimes it displays 'undefined'. I don't wanit 'undefined' to appear but why does it sometimes display 'undefined' rather than a Random string.

The problem I'm having is that in order to keep it neat, I have an initial value in the text box to say what I want to be entered (in this case, 'Name') Now, I have it set to automatically select the text on click, but I would either like to have it erase the text entirely so my php file (contactdate.php) can filter it and give an error message, or have my php file actually filter out the value "Name" and send the user to an error page.

Below is the script and form fields I am working with. What I want to do is sum the two textbox fields and have the result show in the total textbox. The code works fine and the total textbox is updated with the value of form1.basic. The problem occurs when I add the "+ parseInt(document.form2.supporter.value)" code in the script section.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a form with 2 radio buttons (ACCEPT/REJECT). When the page is initially loaded, no textbox should be visible.
When a user clicks the REJECT radio button, a textbox should automatically appear below the radiobutton where the user can motivate why he chose the reject option (which we require).
When the user clicks the ACCEPT radio button, the textbox should not appear because we don't need motivations for accept actions.
Does someone have a clue if and how I can realize this in JavaScript?
I have a form where I need to set the radio button according to the
user's input. For example, if the user enters 21 or greater, I need the

I Should have the textbox value as my radio button value. For example, if I type "5" in the textbox, then the radio button value would change to "5". by the way I have three radio buttons and one textbox and if I select one of those and type something in the text box the value would replace to radio button which is selected and all this have to happen before the page submitted or in the process of submitting.
