Feb 22, 2011In the attached code the outcome always defaults to the first test, even if the condition is false. How would I alter the syntax so that both condtions are evalauted?

Pass A False Statement Out From A Function
Aug 9, 2010if i group some javascript into a function that returns false; how could i carry that 'false' out of the function so it can be used outside the function.the example below shows the validate function checks for a condition then returns false if it is met. i want this false to then be passed out of the function to then throw an error in its containing function. (goal to prevent the submitting of a form)i dont want the proceed function to be called, so how can the other function prevent this.Now i realise that the validate function could be incorporated into the top level function but, my form will eventually be quite large with a multiplitude of fields so i need to know how i can call back to functions and use them as objects insteasd of repeating lots of code.

Jan 5, 2011I have on submit code that is checking to see if a field has any data. If not, some date fields are updated with generic data. The if statement does what I want it to do with the date fields, but it is overwritting what I have in the field that I am checking with either true or false. I don't understand why this would happen as I am not changing the value of this field with the code, just checking to see if there is a null/blank value.

Taking A True / False Statement And Making A Checkbox Checked
Apr 14, 2010I'm getting a value from the database either true/false. I have a alert box that shows it being true/false. I want a checkbox to be checked if true else not. Here is the line of code that I have and it just automatically checks everytime, which I obviously don't want.

Jan 25, 2011I have a simple example below showing how when I pass in the value of the value attribute of option node, and then use if operator to check whether parameter is a string or not, even though it's a string, it converts it to false boolean and triggers the else statement rather than calling a function.callback should be a string so why is it saying otherwise?

By hangs i mean it stops working and even the links will not show rollover states. I thought it was just a matter of adding a stop() but this changed nothing.

Aug 3, 2011I am building a shopping cart in Volusion. I've come really far and can find my way around HTML and CSS.But the template I am using has a zebra function that it uses on the shopping cart screen. The colors it is using are terrible, and I can't figure out how to change them.By zebra, I mean it picks every other row in a table and assigns a different background color. I am noticing in firebug that the div-ids of the items in the cart have div-ids taht are not listed in any of the CSS files in the theme.I figured out that this type of coding is usually done in JavaScripting. I tried editing that file in every logical way, and I can get no response out of it aside from my browser hanging. I even tried commenting out different sections.
I'm not sure if you are at all familiar with Volusion, but they provide absolutely no assistance and try very hard to make things as hard as possible so customers will be desperate for their design services. All support will say is, "we are prohibited from providing any coding information. Would you like me to transfer you to sales?" They routinely remove resources that were once helpful. Nice customer service.

Top.close Closes The Window Before Responding To Alert In Child Frame
Dec 20, 2005I am encountering a problem where I have a window and there are three
frames, one in the left, right and in the bottom. The bottom most frame has
common submit buttons. There are several tabs in left frame. Each one loads
a different form on the right frame. After fetching the contents of the form
from user, I am validating the text fields in the form using onChange() event
handler. After entering the text value in the textbox, if I press Submit
directly, the "Submit" as well as the validation routine happens concurrently.
Only at the end of validation, the field is marked as dirty. Now, if field is not
marked dirty, the Submit function will close the window without actually
submitting as nothing was changed. So when an invalid value is entered and
the Submit is pressed directly, an alert pops up temporarily but the close()
call from the parent frame immediately closes the alert window before user
can respond. This problem does not occur in IE as in IE, unless the alert
window is responded, the close() call cannot close the alert window. Code:
One Grid Displays Numbers, True Or False And Yes Or No, And The Other Grid Displays Letters, True, False, Yes And No?
Feb 15, 2012I have two grids, they both display buttons. One grid displays numbers, true or false and yes or no, and the other grid displays letters, true, false, yes and no.
The second grid is not displayed in the code (used css to not display second grid buttons (.answerBtns)) Now using the getButtons() function, if the user selects button "1" in first grid (the grid which you have to open using (Open Grid) link, then it should display button "A" in second grid, if user selects button "2" in first grid, then it should displays buttons "A" and "B" in second grid, if "3" then display "A", "B" and "C" and so on.
Now except using if statements and stating which buttons should be displayed and not displayed depending on the button chosen in first grid, is there a more efficent way of coding this so that the display of buttons in second grid depends on what is selected in the first grid?
If it is using an array can somebody show a sample of this in their answer. You can just do it for one example and then I should be able to use that to fill it for the other buttons.
