I am new to javascript and currently coding a site with scripts that
are beyond my level of understanding. The problematic page has
thumbnail images that can be clicked on to zoom in. When clicked, the
preloaded larger image displays in a div layer that gets turned on. The
problem is that ie sometimes does not display the image - the
placeholder just stays blank. The script works fine in firefox and
netscape (haven't tried safari yet). Since I am new to this and this
only happens sporadically, I'm having a lot of trouble identifying the
error or a fix. Also, the src for the images is dynamically created
from the text name that displays below the bags. This is for content
management purposes. Code:
internet explorer shows blank page of my website im working on the website works fine on firefox but in internet explorer all im seeing is a blank page.....here is the link of the website also in local computer its not working why???
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
We're using a fade image slideshow from : [URL]. On our webpage: [URL]. It works perfectly in Firefox, Chrome and Safari. However in I.E. ( were using v.9) it shows no images at all, just a blank space. The code is exactly the same as the page on javascriptkit yet his images fade as they should ours do not show at all.
I'm utilizing jQuery GalleryView for a website and I'm having a problem with it showing up. I have two different pages that use it. Within Firefox they will only seem to work after I switch between the two or refresh a couple of times, and even then it's a crapshoot. In IE, they never work, one of the pages briefly flashes the content in rough form during load but then goes blank. These both work 100% of the time when testing through Dreamweaver to Firefox, and don't work through Dreamweaver to IE. Here is my Javascript and some of my html code for both pages.
I'm creating a web page that randomly shows images when when a button is clicked. I appear to be having 2 main problems with it so I'll begin with what seems to be the easiest one to tackle.as the user scrolls down the page I need to keep the button statically, in the top right corner.here's the relevant code:
had this in browsers areas but people told me I should put it here in Javascript because more people here would probably have seen it before and know why it happens. I have basic Javascript that rotates images. I've noticed any kind of Javascript code that rotates images has this same problem only in Mozilla. When the images rotate in Mozilla in between the rotations, Mozilla browser adds a little colored square that represents a blank image that are able to be seen does anyone know why Mozilla Browser adds that? For example when looking at this page in Mozilla can see it. if you know if this is some Mozilla problem with Javascript and images. Doesn't happen with IE and other browsers shows the images only and nothing else.
SlidShow to show more than 6 images at a time. Here is the development link: [URL] - there are 12 pictures but only 6 are showing there. Same with [URL] where is the setting to expand it to show ALL images I specify, not just the first 6?
It's for a photo gallery like this http:[url].....php but the one I need it for has 100 images so the page loads much slower. I can't just put the loading gif behind the images (as you would normaly) because you can see it with each image fade in and out. how I can have a loading gif show "only" while the images are initially loading, and then it goes away?
I have a frame_structure.html divided into column-frames(frame_menu.html and frame_content.html). When user click on menu links, I want the statusbar not to display the link.
I know how to do inline onMouseOver (... true;"...); with each href in frame_menu.html. But I want to write just one time using <script>. I've tried in frame_menu.html
There must be an apostrophe or some other little javascript nuisance that I'm still including in this script, but whenever I try it out, nothing shows..it is supposed to randomly display some text and a link Code:
I need a tag that doesn't go anywhere when I click on it but will show the little hand with index finger outstretched like I am hovering over the text teh tag applies to. I googled for a while, but could not find anything related to what I am looking for. I need this because I am writing a file that will execute a javascript function when I click on it, which will display some new information, so I want it to appear to the user that he/she is clicking on a link.
I have a series of links in a list. And by an onmouseover event I want to get a message <li> with an explaination between the last link and the previous one.
I'm integrating google map to my site running under phpmydirectory. The google map display nicely in FF, however, there are alignment problems to all the controls (up, left, right, down buttons) and the map is not shown in the page.
I've been looking without success for a slide show program that will rotate web pages as opposed to just images. Am I best off just using a banner rotation script or is there something out there that is available for that purpose. The wish list is for a full page rotation ( the page uses SSI) possible fading of images in IE and being able to vary the time of each image. Asking alot?
The following code is my form, if one of the fields is left blank (and there will usually be one left blank) the calculation returns NaN and will not perform the task needed. I initially had the form set to calculate in metric kilometers and liters, when I converted the math portion to miles and gallons it started doing this. This is the line giving me the problems:
var cars_emissions=(((mileage1/efficiency1)*0.3732417216/1000)+((mileage2/efficiency2)*0.3732417216/1000)+((mileage3/efficiency3)*0.3732417216/1000)); The original was:
I know I can use the functions like parseFromString() to access and modify an existing XML documents, but is it possible to use JavaScript to create a blank xml document?
I want to take data entered into the client, package it up as XML and use ajax to transmit it to the server. So far I've written my own class to create a simple xml document, but I'd like to do it properly with the inbuilt functions.
I have a three field contact form on an HTML5 page. Using CSS3/HTML5 techniques, the fields change state as the info is entered properly (green OK symbol if good, red "!" if not, etc). That all works as expected in all browsers.
My final hurdle is preventing the form being submitted with nothing entered in the fields. I have done hours of research and have tried several ways of writing the checkFeedbackForm function. My problem is that none of the solutions I've found are recognized by FireFox (mac and pc) and IE. They just ignore the javascript and allow the empty form to be emailed.
I'm building my portfolio website. I'm an illustrator and graphic designer (for printing). My website uses html and css. I introduce a jquery plugin to create a slide show with my work. Until then, everything was working well. The problem appears when I introduce php to my code in order not to repeat the navigation bar all the time. With php and the jquery together I get a blank page in my browser.
This link shows the blank page I'm getting using php and jquery together. [URL]
This is an example of the site without the jquery. [URL]
Could someone please help me with this thanks.

Those <li> tags Im using is to numbered the images. It might not be a good practice but it works.
I'm using an swf on a page that contains javascript function calls that relate to an external js file linked to the swf's parent html document.
Still with me? Ok.
The idea is that when javascript is enabled all the extras work, and when it is not enabled, they don't (though the page still displays the initial content).
This behaves as intended in Camino with javascript both on and off. This also works fine in IE5Mac when javascript is on.
Problem is, when javascript is off in IE5Mac, the first instance of javascript in the swf causes the entire browser window to go blank (no html content, no back button, no reload. Nada).
I've tried conditionalising the function ( if (document.geElementById) ) both in the function declaration itself and the function calls within the swf, but the problem still occurs. Fwiw, the function calls within the swf relate to a function that alters html text using the innerHTML branch of the DOM.
Is this a documented bug with IE5 (Mac?) or is there some way round this that simply gets IE5Mac to ignore the function calls coming from the swf when javascript is disabled? Alternatively, is there some way of getting the swf itself to ignore any javascripts contained insied if the browser is not javascript-enabled?
I would like to have a blank space to separate the options in the "Select Color/Size drop down box" I would also like to have an alert('Please select a size'); show up if someone chooses the blank space. I have tried to do this but my attempts have been fruitless so far. Code:
I have the following piece of code in use on a vBulletin forum:
function sel(postid,username) { if (document.getSelection) { var str = document.getSelection();
[Code].....
What this does is if the user highlights some text in a post and presses a button, it inserts the highlighted text into QUOTE tags within the Quick prely box.
This works fine...however, it doesn't check if the user has actually selected some text. Many users simply press the button thinking it will quote the entire post, when in fact it will simply insert some "blank" quote tags.
What would I need to add into this to check that some text has been selected, and return an alert if not?
First time back here in a while, but I'm trying to get proficient in JS. I want to make my input element reset its value attribute to blank, which is originally set to "your e-mail". You know the effect you see on forms that have text in them, then with the onclick attribute, you can clear the text in the box.
So, after looking around trying to find out what to do, here's what I've attempted.
I have a jquery Tree program. I got from the net written by Mauro. here we can drag and sort the node.To run this program, we need 2 JS file.
