I am creating a website which doesn't have any server. I need to create a Contact Us form. But now as there is no server so i cannot email this information using server side code. Is there a way by which I can send this information by using any free email server (like gmail)?

Are there any Javascript frameworks which provide such functionality via some API?2. If there are no Javascript frameworks, can I use serverside Javascript to do what I want.I am familiar with basic Javascript(no frameworks and don't know anything about serverside Javascript).My rudimentary code is

I want to send a simple email with just email & subject only when the user clicks a link that opens a pdf. I'm thinking javascript is the best way to do this but I have no idea how. I have googled it a bunch but most information is about getting an email when someone clicks a link you send in an email. I don't want that. This is on a website. I'm not sure if php would be better to use.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a script that has a form and i need it to send to an email address. The send button has an onclick with send() as its action, the js file has a send function but no way of inputting an email address, I though of adding .submit() or .post() jquery items but I am having trouble. Basically the script was given to me as is because there was no need for it and I wanted to get it to work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to validate a web form. Someone else wrote the Html code and implemented it with an iframe using asp and php. I didn't want to mess too much with the code so I decided to use javascript to make the form validate, before it was sending email alerts with every field blank. For the most part the validation works but it skips the email field for some reasons and is really bugging me to death. this is the code:
<head>
<link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="CSS/style.css"/>
<title>Bid Form</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
<script src="gen_validatorv4.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">

Heres my javascript code that will verify email from email input field and check if the checkbox (I agree condition) was checked:

However, this will work fine when calling with a link "javascript:validate('inputForm');" but if I try to prevent users by submitting form with pressing enter I put it in form onSubmit parameter: <form .. onSubmit="javascript:validate('inputForm');"> which will check the forms and submit data (do return) no matter if it matched or no.
Last week after much searching, I found the answer to my problem in
this newsgroup. I can't find the thread from which I got my solution,
but I wanted to report back what worked.
When the site visitor fills out the form and submits it, this calls a
rather ordinary asp script like formmail.asp that sends the emails and
displays a "thank you" web page. At the very end of my "thank you" web
page I placed the following:
<script type="text/javascript">
location.href="FileToDownload.exe"
</script>
This causes the file download to get triggered, and asks the user if
they want to save the file. In limited testing this appears to work
fine in both Firefox and IE.
I'm a mediocre website designer i know html , at JS i'm to noob to actualy make something of my own :) just Edit, i'm still learning and atm i'm working on a web project and I'm struggling to find a way to Filter email addresses to redirect my New Members to their e-mail provider, for example if they would register newmmember@hotmail.com to be forwarded to www.hotmail.com so they would login and activate their account, or if they enter @yahoo.com to be forwarded there . Can you please point out a few things i'm eager to learn how to Forward User to email provider after he creates his account . Or how can i forward email to URL inside my webpage , this could help me with another ideea i have, again this would have to be filtered @yahoo.com , @hotmail.com etc , to be forwarded to a local URL inside the site depending on what Email Provider they enter .

actual word document. I want to have a button in one of the other frames that emails this created page as an email attachment using the email client (outlook or whatever). I created a function as follows:
<script language="JavaScript">
function mailIt()
var page = parent.QandA;
document.write 'mailto: sendmail@example.com?subject=The

document.write page;

Which is then called from a button, but it doesnt work! QandA is the
name of the frame that contains the document I want to email as the
attachment.
Im using the old nopcard scripts on my site. It does every thing right except it does not send a Email to my to my email adres. I dont know how to correct this because i dont know Javascript. View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a pop-up window that will remain in front of the
orignal webpage. The pop-up is called as follows:
<script type="text/javascript">
var newWin=null
var winl = (screen.width-208)/2;
var wint = (screen.height-228)/2;
newWin=window.open("URL",'mywindow','left=' + winl + ',top=' +
wint+
',width=208,height=228,toolbar=,menubar=,location= ,scroll=,resizable=,status=');
newWin=window.focus(mywindow);
</script>
The webpage that this pop-up is called from is a completely blank page
that calls another website via a frame:
<frameset rows="100%,*">
<frame src="URL" >
<frame src="Untitled">
</frameset>
<noframes>
</noframes>
The reasoning behind this is because I am unable to modify the page
that the frame is calling and a pop-up needed to be loaded in front of
it. The problem is, when this page is run the pop-up comes into focus,
but when the frame called URL is finished loading, the pop-up is pushed
to the back. I cannot seem to find a way to make it focus and I think
that delaying the pop-up from lauching would solve this problem but I
have been unable to properly implement it.
Is there a way to delay a call to a page counter (ie. call to a server script from an IMG tag) for the purpose to not lock the page loading awaiting counter be displayed.
Maybe a setTimeout() launching an equivalent of "document.write", but writing in a specific DIV ? Thanks in advance for your ideas.
Actually, the counter is called (without delay) like this :
With a script that hides a <div> a couple of seconds after the page is loaded. I have little to no experience in Java, so i'm not sure how to go about it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedQuick question. Is there a way in javascript to cause a delay before a new page loads on clicking a link? I'm working on a function that I'd like to run when a link is clicked but before it's followed.
IMPORTANT: javascript must be free to run another function during this delay.
If possible, I'd like to avoid having to use any <a href="javascript:someFunction()"> type links into the html. Designers with little to no coding experience beyond very basic HTML and CSS will be using this script, and I want to make their job (and mine) easier.
I have the following CSS menu, which uses a js to create the menu on Mouseover... I want to add a delay onMouseOut... I have tried the setTimeout function, but am having some trouble getting it to work... the submenu just stays out...
var menuids=new Array("verticalmenu") //Enter id(s) of UL menus, separated by commas
var submenuoffset= 0 //Offset of submenus from main menu. Default is -2 pixels.
function createcssmenu(){
for (var i=0; i<menuids.length; i++){
var ultags=document.getElementById(menuids[i]).getElementsByTagName("ul")
for (var t=0; t<ultags.length; t++){

I'm using the following as my popup script:
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
<!-- Begin
function NewWindow(mypage, myname, w, h, scroll) {
var winl = (screen.width - w) / 2;
var wint = (screen.height - h) / 2;
winprops = 'height='+h+',width='+w+',top='+wint+',left='+winl+',scrollbars='+scroll+',res izable'
win = window.open(mypage, myname, winprops)
if (parseInt(navigator.appVersion) >= 4) { win.window.focus(); }
}
// End -->
</script>
It works great, but I'd like to delay the popup by 15seconds.
What should I put in my BODY tag to do this?....
I have a form that calls a perl script. A few javascript routines in
the form do a few things prior to submitting. For some reason,
however, the perl script is being called twice (the perl script sends
out an email, and submitting the form once results in two identical
emails.)
Here are excerpts from the script that I believe to be relevant (I can
post more if this isn't enough, but it's long and I'm trying to keep
it brief.) Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I've read about
how you need to return true after calling the javascript via a button
click, but I've done this kind of thing in other places and it's
worked fine. I've also tried inserting a return statement here in the
function and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Strange. (BTW, I
changed the domain name in the URL out of courtesy to my client, just
FYI.) Code:
