Getting A Integer Value From A Textbox - Check If It's Nan Or Null?
May 12, 2010
I am pulling a value via JavaScript from a textbox.If the textbox is empty, it returns NaN.I want to return an empty string if it's null, empty,etc.What check do I do?if(NAN = tb.value) ?
I have the following Javascript code to make a simple calculation. It works fine the numbers entered are integer. But if the numbers are 1.5 style I get stupid results or NAN error. I would like to add a check to the script which checks: 1- If the value entered is integer or 1.5 style for all fields. If it is not gives an alert message and stop calculating. 2- If the visitor enters 1,5 instead of 1.5 (In Turkey it is a common usage.) I need script replace the 1,5 with 1.5 and then make the calculation [Code] .....
I have already done a number of things with Jörn's validation plugin and I'm excited about its features. But here is my question: how do I validate a field so that it fits the two following conditions: it should be an integer and should not be equal to zero? So, if a user enters "0", it should be error; if he/she enters "12.5", it should be error also; but "-3", "125", "40" are OK.
I am trying to learn how to do this one thing with JavaScript and can't seem to find anything on the internet. I have learned about loops and arrays and some other useful stuff. I've been looking for 2 days straight. I have gotten close though.
I am trying to have a textbox on the page and a button below it. A statement above the textbox should ask the user to enter a positive integer and then click the button. When the button is clicked the results from 0 to that number should appear below the button. Should look like this
please enter positive integer. 6 BUTTON1
1 2 3 4 5 6
I have been trying night and day for 2 days now and It's driving me insane.
i have captured the session value and displayed in a variable result. suppose if i have result =0.then it does not display true.it still displays false.
how do i check whether result is empty or not.
function checkSession() { var result = <%=session.getAttribute("INTPERCENT")%> alert(result); if(result=="") { alert('false'); return false; } else { alert('true'); return true;
I am putting some validation on some forms at work. The users have asked to put something in place to make sure that if you enter something in on field that you must enter something in the corresponding field.
Example : Lets say there is a Company field and a Position field. Well they would like that if you enter a Company you should enter a Position and the other way where if you enter a Position you just enter a Company.
Ok so thats easy enough I did something like the following.
if((form.Company1.value=="") && !(form.Position1.value=="")){ alert("Enter a Company into the Company field for row 1 or enter N/A"); form.Company1.focus(); return false; }
Well now they want a message box to give the user the option it ignore that they have a blank field, and more or less want a hey just to let you know, you didnt put anything here
The function below results in this error and I'm not sure how to correct it? The initial value of the field is 0.00, but it doesn't look like it's relevant... That is, even when the value isn't 0, it still results in this error.
i am trying to check a character with another character which are in the same text box.when we are entering date,date in the first text box and month in another text box and year in another text box.now i want when i am trying to enter '0'in the character position when there is '0' at first character position it must raise an alert box as well as when i am trying to enter a digit greater than '1' at 2nd character position it must raise an alert box when there is '3' in the first character position.
I need to validate three textboxes and it will validate for numbers. How should I change my code to validate three textboxes?
Code: Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
[code]....
I need to use Javascript to validate 3 textboxes, whereby the users can only key in numbers (because they are phone numbers related fields). If any of the textbox is empty, display an alert message to show which textbox is empty. I do not want to show many alert messages to show that, for example, text1 and text2 are empty, it will show two alert messages. I would need to show one "summarized" alert message instead.Next, check if the textbox matches the pattern (which is to check if it has the skeleton of a phone number). If it is, show an alert message that it is alright. Else, show that it does not match.
What I want to do is to check if the selected date in a form textbox is less than today in which case an error message should be displayed. I tried to write the code myself, but unfortunatelly I miss something.Here are th lines:
Code: function dateValidation() { var obj = book.dc1.value; var day = obj.value.split("/")[0]; var month = obj.value.split("/")[1];
Basically, i have a past and present checkbox, start date and leave date. Now if the user clicks on the "present" checkbox i want the leave date checkbox to vanish and if clicked again i want to re-appear..Take a look at this page:-http:[url].....
now you can see at the moment i have the checkboxes past, present and 2 text boxes beneath. Can i do this?
I am new to jQuery, and learning more about Js by doing. I can hand-code HTML and CSS very well and understand OOP effectively. However, troubleshooting complex Javascript code combined with jQuery is a challenge to me, but I really want to learn. I am using Windows XP Professional and IE 8, FF 3.6.
Below is the script and form fields I am working with. What I want to do is sum the two textbox fields and have the result show in the total textbox. The code works fine and the total textbox is updated with the value of form1.basic. The problem occurs when I add the "+ parseInt(document.form2.supporter.value)" code in the script section.
I did find the javascript twice in my code, once in the header and once here, so i removed it from the header. I also changed to src to the full url. But i am still getting this and i dont know why. the file is located in the root directory. found a solution. basically Internet Explorer is crappy and doesnt like the setAttribute property so had to change the onchange handler by directly changing the attrbute for the object like so.object.onchange = function() {}i have no idea what they means, does that mean i need to change swfobject.js or does that mean i have to change my xml request. and if it is the swfobject i have no clue what they mean or what lines
var book1 = bobj1.value; var chapter1 = cobj1.value; var verse1 = vobj1.value; var book2 = bobj2.value; var chapter2 = cobj2.value; var verse2 = vobj2.value; [Code].....
I don't know if this is written properly: if(bcv[a]!= ""){ The reason this is happening is because the error shows: Error: cobj1 is null Source File: [URL]
