I need to apply this to the text in a specific DIV rather than the checkbox row. I also need the text to fade to red then revert each time a checkbox changes state, rather than stay red and revert when unchecked. I basically want to draw users attention to a totals panel whenever there is checkbox activity.

Noob: OnMouseOver Color Fade/change Effect?
Jan 12, 2010This is my first post at CodingForums! I'm currently designing a wordpress theme, and I require a bit of javascript for a hover effect. I'm using Wordpress Jquery + Jquery Color Animations plugin. The structure: I use a div (class="post") as a container for the wordpress post, and within the "post" div, I have a span (class="title") which I use to display the title of the post.
What I want to do is: when the user hovers over (OnMouseOver) "post" div: ".title" spans's background color fades from black to red. when the user hovers out (OnMouserOut) "post" div: ".title" spans's background color fades back to black.

The code works, except when the user hovers over any "post" div, all "title" span change color. So my question is, how do I target the code to address ONLY the "title" span in the "post" div that is in hover state?
JQuery :: Taming The Farbtastic Color-picker Space - Clicking The Trigger Makes The Page Text Fade
Dec 28, 2010The Farbtastic color picker is an elegant solution to the color-picking problem, but its usefulness is prohibitive in those situations where there is not enough screen real-estate. Because it is large, these are many. Since I want to use it in such a situation, I started working towards a solution.
The designed solution involved in clicking on something small, such as Click to Activate, and having the rest of the page become faded-out, while the color-picker appears superimposed over other parts of the page.
That solution is implemented up to a point. In the code posted:
- The trigger appears as part of the original DOM.,
- Clicking the trigger makes the page text fade, the color-picker appear, and the trigger changes to something like Click to Deactivate,
- Upon clicking, it does disappear, and the page text resumes it original appearance..
After this point, one might work towards making it more modular and more easily usable as is farbtastic itself.
It requires a var to hold state, and other things. Ideally, it could be combined with the original to offer a wider range of usage patterns. I have no doubt that the code can vastly be improved, since I am relatively new to jquery, although not to computing.
The code is posted below, in the hope that it proves useful to others, The only change made to the farbtastic.js code itself is to add "id='fbc' " to the outermost <div which is added internally. This change is not shown because it would involve posting all of farbtastic.js for this one change. The section of text used to illustrate presumed page content is from the NSIS Users Manual, and has no significance beyond being some text. The div named 'overlay' was employed to allow shifting the whole thing around as a unit relative to the trigger but might be eliminated were that not needed, since everything else works without it, Note also that the input#color from the original farbtastic has been replaced by 'repeater' which is a <div, but seems to work ok to get the color info.
Color Changing Code - Making A Rollover Go From A Dark Gray To A Subtle Light Gray With A Nice Fade?
Sep 2, 2011I have been trying to get better at my javascript as of late and there is this one particular color fading technique I have found that I am having trouble dissecting. The following code appears to be how they are making a rollover go from a dark gray to a subtle light gray with a nice fade but I can't exactly tell whats going on from the code. Is it just telling it to add a rgb point in so many seconds?

Dec 19, 2011I have a gallery style page with rectangular images on laid out like a grid of nine. When the user looks at the page there is just the images and no information, but when they hover over the image I would like some text and a bar underneath to show up over the top so the user can read some information.my images sit in "a" tags. There is also a div tag in there which has it's z-index and position (absolute) set up so that it sits over the top of the image element in the "a" tag. stripped down e.g.

I need the div tag withinin the "a" tag to be set to 0 opacity. When the user hovers over the image the div tag slowly fades in to 100% opacity. Once the user moves the mouse away from the image the div tag slowly disappears again.I need each one to work independently so that it only changes the one currently being hovered over.

Feb 15, 2010I'm having problems with my text appearing aliased and turning blue when it fades in and out. I've tried using the Newsticker plugin and the Easyticker plugin, and I'm getting the same result in IE7 and Firefox 3.6. I'm using jQuery 1.2.6-min Specifying a background color doesn't fix it. The examples on the plugin websites look fine, but when I try and implement the effect myself, my orange text becomes aliased and fades to a light blue color before dipping to white. Same thing happens on the fade in. attached is a screenshot of what I'm seeing.

Additional Color Array For Background Color Change On Mouseover
Apr 24, 2011have been trying to rework this to call additional, independent sets of colors to cycle through (so it would loop thru a set of grays, a set of primary colors, etc). I would use perhaps a different function name in the HTML to call different sets of colors. JQuery :: Get A True Cross-fade, Not The Sorta Cross Fade Used By Default?

The cross fade option used by default with cycle is not a linear one...it looks like it uses some kind of S curve because during the crossfade animation the background (meaning the area behind the images being cross-faded) becomes visible.
