Embedded Windows Media Player In Internet Explorer (fine In Firefox / Chrome)
Mar 23, 2010
I am trying to play a video from javascript using the WMP plugin in IE.It works fine in Firefox and Chrome, but not IE.[code]This doesn't play the video in IE8.It works if I use the SRC parameter when I embed the player, but I need the video to change when I click on buttons.
I developed a website using jQuery plugins in part of it. Couple of visitors visited the website with internet explorer complained that some part of the website does not function at all. I have Internet Explorer 8 installed and I dont know how to downgrade it.[URL]...
i m using tis embeded media player in my web. but, how can i provide checkbox for each song and then let the user play the multiple songs together using tis code? the music file format are .wma, .mp3 or .midi..
Whenever I open the page in Chrome, my "Hello" message pops up, but in any other of my browsers, it doesn't. This page is also being hosted basically from a file on my computer, on the C drive.
It works in Google Chrome but not Firefox and Internet Explorer. My computer has blocked Opera and I don't know how to change that. Too much energy to investigate now, I'll do so later.I'm assuming GoogleChrome is fixing a syntax error that FF and IE don't.
var request; request=false; try {
[code]....
has the problem. When I set up alerts to see what works and what doesn't, this code seems to be causing the FF and IE to not work, but I can't tell what it is that's causing them to fail.This is javascript that is suppose to check if a name has been taken by another user.
I'm working on a fairly large project that I wish to be the new formspring, (size wise) I procrastinated for 2 weeks of my 12 week break and now that I'm just getting started on it I'm running into an ishness load of problems...
That's a sample code that you'd use. You know how it has a default, automatic media player that shows up in corresponding to that code? The thing with the play, pause and fast forward buttons? Well...it's a bit plain. The way it looks. I know I've seen them before, but where can I get some media player skins so the media player on my webpage has more style to it?
Whenever I search "media player skins" on google it gives me media players for using off the internet like, for iTunes or something. That's not what I am looking for, but if that's what it gives me when I type in "media player skins" then I don't know where else to go. Help? :o
And how would you make it the skin of the media player? How would you put that into the <embed src="video url here" width="100" height="100"> code to make it the skin of the media player?
I'm working on controlling Windows Media Player with JavaScript. I have all my functions working but a few. I want to sync the movie so that when it finishes the movie it loads the new one.
Now I was thinking of doing something like:
function PlayNext(movie) { if( Player.controls.currentPosition == Player.controls.duration ) { // execute code to load next movie } } I have that function being called every half second and I still can't get it to sync.
I am currently using windows media player to stream my shoutcast radio. I have been able to use javascript for my custom controls to keep with my site layout and now i want to show what is playing on the webpage with javascript. I would also like this to recheck every 5 seconds so that it is correct incase the song changes.
I'm doing embedding Windows Media Player with the HTML but I can not run the script through a different page. The following script that I made: file : player.html
I have recently just built a simple website and have started to add some added editions one being the lightbox.
i am using dreamweaver cs3 and on a mac laptop, so in safari it works brillaint no problems what so ever.
but as soon as you load it in internet explorer the light box opens but it displays a 404 error on the first image of every gallery, on every different profile?[code]...
I have one page with <select> list in it, which opens a popup with another <select> list. Those two list are linked... When I select something in the list that is in popup window and confirm the selection (by pressing button), I call a function that fills the "parent" window and forces popup to close. All this is accomplished by directly accessing another list:
for(var i = 0; i <= selLength; i++){ name = parent.window.opener.listValues.options[i].text; value = parent.window.opener.listValues.options[i].value;
self.document.form1.itemList.options[i] = new Option(name, value); }
And this doesn't seem to work with IE. With Firefox is OK.
I ran in to a strange problem with a client who uses Yahoo hosting. The web site uses AJAX (jquery, php, javascript). There is no problem viewing the site using IE8, Firefox on a Windows 7 computer. On an XP computer the site worked fine in IE, but not in Firefox. The site never worked properly using Chrome or Safari.
I tried jquery 1.3.2 and 1.4.2 but got the same results.
I use this same combination (jquery, php, javascript) on other web hosts and don't have these problems.
I know that Yahoo hosting injects tracking code in the web pages it serves for the sites it hosts (at least for my client). I think this could be the source of the problem.
When I removed jquery (I was only using the load function anyway) and used my own code- the problem disappeared. The site now works in all browsers.
It does NOT work fine in IE8 or Safari. In both these browsers the height of the DIV that's being set is usually shorter than the other DIV it's being aligned with.Here's the code I'm using to resize the problematic DIV:
Function resize(height) { $(document).ready(function(){ var div = $( "#annoucement-area-243" );
I am entering the so far very exciting world of javascript. However, I am perplexed at the following. I am setting a function to run every second with 'setInterval("runMonitor()", 1000)'. This works magically in Firefox, however works exactly one time in IE6 and then stops.
Code: function runMonitor(){ var rflag = <?php echo $jsonopt; ?>; if (rflag == "1"){ return 0; }
I've recently transitioned from kubuntu to slackware 13.0. I find that although crossover could "run" a fully functional Internet Explorer session on kubuntu, there are all kinds of problems getting IE working correctly on slackware. (with wine or crossover). This begs the question: Is there a firefox plugin that would enable me to test javascript on firefox as if the javascript were on IE? If not, I'll be that I am not the only developer that could use such a feature.
Here's another cross-over issue between the two browsers: IE and Firefox Please, take the time to view my test website: www seemyinvestments dot com I suggest you use Firefox first, Note the first page will be the index.php for the very website itself. Please, scroll down the source code file until you see the following line: $mainframe =& JFactory::getApplication('site');
Note the word, JFactory, is underlined, and the word, getApplication, is in green. Clicking on either word will successfully invoke a AJAX function in Firefox. For example, a popup window will appear in the upper-righthand corner of the browser if you click on the green word, getApplication. (The popup has test data in it so it doesn't make any sense right now.) Clicking on the word, JFactory, will display that source code file using AJAX....quick and clean.
With Internet Explorer, this is all suddenly broken! I swear it worked as good as in Firefox, and now suddenly nothing happens. With IE, two runtime errors occur. One Syntax Error, Line 214, and the other is a 'Expected Identifer' error, Line 4114. How the heck can I track down these errors? (What's out there an IE equalvent to FireFox's Error Console??)
I wrote the following small HTML page, trying to play a sound in Firefox 8 and Internet Explorer 9. The button and the <a></a> link work fine, but calling from the <script></script> tag does nothing. Does anybody know, what can be wrong, and what I can do? I'm sorry, you have to supply the oef.wav file, since I can't upload it.
I have used the swfobject.js file & its methods to play a flash movie in my webpage. It works fine when I open the page in firefox & chrome but does not work in IE-6. Below is the code i used:
I am trying to complete a javascript application and am having problems with code similar to that show below.
Much testing has shown that Firefox finishes the code shown in around 0.25 secs but Internet Explorer 6 takes a massive 3.5 secs! Internet Explorer 7 gets it down to around 2 seconds - but that's still 8 times slower than Firefox and way unacceptable for my userbase.
Looking through the newsgroups there is some discussion around the differences between the way the two browsers handle arrays - but a performance differential such as this is just unbelievably dismal.
Unfortunately I need to continue to use arrays of objects and have to support the Internet Explorer client base. I have already added specification of the array size and also removed the use of array "push"ing - flattening the array is not really an option. Code:
I have a script that works in Firefox but not IE6-
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> document.Params.ThisPageURL.value=document.URL; var x = new Date (); document.Params.TimeZoneOffset.value =x.getTimezoneOffset(); document.Params.submit (); </script>
The form is set this way: <FORM ACTION="<?php echo("$Action"); ?>" METHOD="POST" NAME="Params" <input type="hidden" NAME="ThisPageURL" value=""><input type="hidden" Name="$ERR" value=""><input type="hidden" name ="TimeZoneOffset" value=""><input type="hidden" Name="$U" value=""><input type="hidden" Name="$R" value=""><input type="hidden" Name="$T" value="">
I get the following error in IE: document.Params.ThisPageURL is null or not an object
I have used the Nivo Slider on my website: [URL]. It displays just fine on Firefox but not on IE9, it displays it as if all the images are stacked on top of one another going down the page, but the images don't actually display. Only when I turned on compatibility view on IE9 that the page works properly. I have tried placing the javascript: Code: <script src="[URL]" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="[URL]" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="[URL]" type="text/javascript"></script>
Between the <head> tags but then it doesn't load. It only loads if I add them into the page. Above my slider: Code: <div id="slider" style="width: 400px ! important; height: 300px ! important;"><img src="[URL]frontpage1.jpg" border="0" alt="frontpage1" /> <img src="[URL]frontpage2.JPG" border="0" alt="frontpage2" /> <img src="[URL]frontpage3.jpg" border="0" alt="frontpage3" /> <img src="[URL]frontpage4.jpg" border="0" alt="frontpage4" /> <img src="[URL]frontpage5.jpg" border="0" alt="frontpage5" /><img src="[URL]frontpage6.jpg" border="0" alt="frontpage6" /><img src="[URL]frontpage7.jpg" border="0" alt="frontpage7" /><img src="[URL]frontpage8.jpg" border="0" alt="frontpage8" /><img src="[URL]frontpage9.jpg" border="0" alt="frontpage9" /><img src="[URL]frontpage10.jpg" border="0" alt="frontpage10" /></div>
