Drop Down Menus And Images - Select A Site From The List
Oct 22, 2009
The intention is that when you select a site from the list, the banner underneath changes. However, I can only get it to do this once, then it simply refuses to let you select anything else. This is the code I am using to change it:
if (document.forms.gourl.value = "http://jeff.zhomg.com")
document.images.linkimage.src = '/images/exchange/jeff.gif'
else if (document.forms.gourl.value = "http://www.strangedrawingsartgallery.com")
I am trying to make a form where the user is only able to select an option from one of the drop down menus and if they click both then submit an error should pop up telling them to select just one. Now I have found this code:
the first problem is that my menu must be named "id2" which causes a problem due to the bracketed 2 and the 2 after. Is there any way around that?the second problem I forsee is that this will only work with 1 drop down box being unselected. I need a code that will give the warning if nothing is selected OR if something is selected in both drop downs.
dropdown 1 Manager Salesman (to be selected) Cleaner
iam trying to use 5 drop downs in my form for user to select languages and each select drop down should not allow the user to select the same language again and all my drop downs are populating individually from the DB on the page so if "English" is selected for "dropdown 1" then again "drop down 2" should not allow "English" to be selected.
I have a page that displays a list of people playing in a tournament. I need to be able to generate a Leaderboard based on which players are manually selected by the admin. Next to each person there is a drop-down list. An admin can go in and select a "slot" that a player should be in on the leader board from 1 to 8, or leave it blank if none. What I need to figure out how to do is the following, when a change event happens on a drop-down list, and say the value 5 is selected, I need to check to make sure that 5 is not already selected in one of the other players drop-down lists, in other words, that the 5th leaderboard slot is not already full. if it is, display an error message and make them change that one first. how to do that with jQuery? I'm thinking it will have something to do with the each() function, but not sure exactly how the logic should work.
I've been beating my head against a wall for a few days trying to get this working. I'm trying to create a dynamic menu where a user selects one item and another select list is shown, then another and another (and so on). Here is my JS, it *should* be taking the ID of the div, comparing it to the selected value and then showing another div by settings it's class property to visible:
I have noticed a few requests lately on the forum where there is a request for a dynamic dropdown list (<select...> tag) that would display one set of options if one condition is met, but a different set of options if a different condition is chosen. This is my attempt to solve this problem for other users. The following code is a template to show one way of how this question could be resolved.
i'm having with a superfish menu i have tried to add to my wordpress site.The menu seems to work fine for the base-level (top parent pages) menu items.But the drop down menus seem to flash on screen for just a second and then disappear when the mouse hovers over the menu items.To see an example, please check out the top menu on this temporary development page: http:[url].....I have tried adjusting the z-index in superfish.css file but it doesn't seem to be having any effect.
I am trying to create a drop down list which depend to the value selected from the previous drop down list. I can add it without problem, but If I change again the value of the first drop down list I would like to remove the previous drop down list generated from the first value. If I try to remove it when I create the element, it even does not create the element, the remove element function seems to work because when you click on the remove link it works.
I have a little problem with drop down menus. I have a PHP page in which I extract some categories (from a database). I put those categories in a drop down menu without problems. I would like that when a category is chosen, the entire page should be reloaded without the pression of any "submit" button, and should appear a new drop down menu. The main problem is the reloading of the page as it appears not to work if, after OPTION VALUE, I put the name of the same page in which there is the forum (entrate_in.php). Infact it say "page not found" while it works perfectly if I put the name of a different php page... how to resolve this problem? Code:
I prefer jQuery over flash and not sure how to tackle this, so please advise as best you can. Trying to create a site that allows for images to go full browser and then have the ability to have the other images slide in based on a click.
I also want to float a menu that will allow it to pull in other media (video, that would slide in the same way). The best example I can share is this: http://j.mp/5U79i1 What he is using is flash based (slideshowpro director and slideshow pro for flash). Not interested in flash for this personal project.
What I need to be able to do is have the user presented with a single dropdown menu within a form using HTML <SELECT> and <OPTION>. Once they choose a particular option I then want another dropdown to appear alongside it with a list of options that are dependent on what was selected in the first dropdown. Then I want the same thing to happen a third time, i.e when the user selects an option from the second dropdown a third one appears on the screen to the right of it and then whatever the user chooses from this final dropdown is used in the form submission.
Because I am a complete beginner it would be really useful to have an actual code example that I could then modify with my own options.
I want to make around 3 drop down menus ... where the content in each drop down list is based on the users previous selection from the previous drop down menu ..
for example, suppose we have the following information Honda : <model names> from 1990-2005 Toyota: <models name> from 2000-2005 ford : <model names> from 2000-2003 etc....
the first drop down menu is of course "Make" and the next is "year" then "Model"
how can i make it so that if the user selects Honda then only information about honda appears in the next two menus .. and when they select year ... then only Honda models from that year will appear in the final menu, "model".
I am trying to create 2 different drop down menus which are chained.
First drop down menu: options 1, 2, 3, and 4
Second drop down menu: options 1, 2, 3 and 4
However for the first drop down menu, if you choose the number then that number cannot be selected again on the second drop down menu. So if i pick 4 on the first drop down. then only 1, 2, and 3 should show up on the second drop down OR if you pick 4 on the second drop down it gives you an error saying you selected that value.
Here is the complicated part that I cannot figure out.
I want each drop down menus on two different pages and not on the same page. So after you select the submit button on the first drop down it should go to another page with the second drop down.. Has anyone seen this before.
