Feb 8, 2007

(i wanna do this so user cant close the window in half way of the form process)
or is there anyway to disable it? or open a window without the title bar?
I am writing a prgram in php.when i click "log out "button ,it redirects to my first page "index.php".(username & password)and then by clicking back button in the browser ,it showing all my previous pages that i visited.I want to disable back button in the browser (javascript should support in all browser) using javascript or php
I have only started to learn HTML, CSS, and Javascript (roughly 2 weeks now). I am having a issues regarding when I submit form data to the server. I want to temporarily disable the 'submit' button while the browser is loading and then reactivate it once everything has finished loading. This was my attempt at doing this.
I have a message system that I want to prevent double posting. So when a user sends a message i would like to disable the button. But its done using AJAX and will load without much time. But enough to cause double clicking. So now the button needs to be enabled once Text is put in the Form Field.
Is it possible to disable the browser from refreshing when settings document.location.href
for example here's what i would like to do
if you're at mysite.com you'll click on a link. that link will fire a func that will make the location mysite.com/about however i don't want the browser to refresh. instead i want to write some javascript that will do someother stuff. i know it seems pointless but for the project i am working on it actually make pretty good sense (to me at least LOL).
i don't care about clicking the refresh button or F5 right now. just not having the browser refresh when i change the document.location.
I have a quiz application made in PHP. The quizzes have a time limit, and i display the time left using javascript in a textfield. I always initialize the timer on document load. I also have a page navigation that switch between pages, and i maintain the time value from the last page.
Now the problem is that if the user clicks on back button of the browser and after on forward, the timer gets reinitialized with the start time, and in this way he can cheat. Can you please tell me how can i disable all navigation on my page?
Is there some javascript code I can put on my webpages to prevent visitors at my website from saving a web page to their hard drive, or printing a webpage?
Is there even a way to disable all the menus of their browser?
I've been tasked with the javascript and layout for an application that uses the browser engine (embedded browser I supposed it is). So it's not the actual browser, it looks like an application. Problem is, you know how you can drag and drop an image or html file into a browser and it will open it? Well, can this be prevented via javascript?
I would like to disable the ability of the user hold control and click and get the dropdown menu. I am ultimately discouraging users from easily getting a copy of the image. I was able to do this and disable dragging on all browsers I have tested except Safari (Mac). Code:
I have a form with some text fields that are disabled UNLESS a checkbox is checked. Initially the text fields are disabled and the checkbox is unchecked.
The code is something like this:
Code: function disableTextbox() { if (chk.checked) { txt.disabled = false; } else { txt.disabled = true; } }
<form action=something.cfm> <input type=checkbox name=chk onclick=disableTextbox();> <input type=text name=txt disabled> <input type=submit> </form> When the form is submitted, some validation is performed. If anything fails, I display an error message and show a link to go back (history.back).
The problem that I am having is that when you click on the link to go back, the checkbox on the form is checked, but the text fields are disabled.
You have to re-click the checkbox to update the text field.
I got this problem while disabling Up/Down arrow keys in Mozilla firefox browser useing javascript Given a standard HTML select/option box, I can capture any keypress while the select has focus and stop the selects option list from changing values in IE but not in Mozilla.
[Code]....
In IE and Mozilla I have no trouble capturing the keyCode, and in IE I can prevent pressing a letter "D" and Up/Down arrows from making the list move to Dead, but the select list will drop to Dead in Mozilla. I've tried attaching the event handler to keyup, keydown and keypress, but have yet to find a way in Mozila to capture the keypress and prevent the select list from changing the current selection.
I am trying to make a webpage where I wish to disable text selection on entire body without affecting text input in a form by user. Though I found a couple of javascripts on the net, they don't seem to work with all three browsers (IE, FF, Opera). Code:
I have a form with submit button, and i want to disable the button while the request the processing....and then after the request has completed, then again it will be enable....How to implement this, to my form?Is there a way to get the acknowledgment after processing the request...
can anyone please tell me how can i disable or remove the X button(i.e. close button) on the browser. i just want to apply this only to the one web page of my application.
I would like to disable the back button in IE7 and IE8. I assume the best way is to use window.open. I tried below and it disabled the IE back button but doesnt show the menu items, url bar etc.
Code: <a href="#" onClick="window.open(theURL, 'newpage.html', 'fullscreen=yes, scrollbars=auto')">go to page with disabled IE back button</a>;
