Function Doesn't Work On Explorer But On Other Browsers / Why Is So?
Jul 19, 2011
I have the following function that display a list depending on the drop down option the user selects but doesnt not work on explorer it works on other browsers but on exploere i get the following error code...
First, We 've a course registeration Web app that was developed in .NET/javascript.
In brief, the students login, then the available courses is drawn to him (as DIVs) to select courses then apply registeration.
Of course , the dynamic part of selecting/highliting courses is done in javascript as a clientside Javascript.
The problem that this app was developed with no x-browser compatibility in mind (e.g firefox and chrome). it works fine on IE , ofcourse doesn't work properly on Mozilla browsers.
Now, i want to modify it to be mozilla compatible , i spent time inspecting it (functions and classes, "yes the developer made a javascript classes") .
Is there a tool or something that porting to mozilla ?
I recently made a simple tool that opens a website in an iFrame and tells the user how long the page took to load. I made it out of a premade stopwatch
When i run the test in most browsers (Chrome, Firefox 3.6 and older, IE) it works fine with the output textbox going from "Please run the test" to "Test Running" to [TIME TAKEN FOR PAGE TO LOAD] but in firefox 3.7 (Minefield) it goes from "Please run the test" to "0" every time and the page in the iFrame doesn't load.
I've read that Firefox 3.7 has a new Javascript Engine
The test is at [URL] and the problem code is on THIS PAGE (Use View Source in your browser)
It works fine on Firefox and Chrome, but in IE (7 and 8) and Opera the element just appears rather than being faded in. I've seen a few solutions posted online but have yet to find a solution that works.I have an example page if that helps. I'm also having a few other problems: In Internet Explorer (7 and 8), the first thumbnail never displays the lightbox (the onload event never fires). But the others work fine. In IE7, the code to fix the ClearType bug doesn't work. $(this).css( 'opacity', '' ) should remove the opacity style (in this case, the 'filter' property) but it doesn't remove it. I also tried to remove the filter property. In IE's dev tools it still has style="filter: ;"
In Opera, it never runs after it has loaded once. In other words, if an image is in the browser cache the onload event never fires.
Recently I've added an addition to my site; a javascript featured image slider / slideshow where it cycles and fades between a select amount of images.Everything works great and it works in all browsers except for the dreaded IE The problem with IE is that the script doesn't work at first because it requests permission (the popup at the top) and the page doesn't work correctly until permission is granted.
I'm using the Google AJAX APIs, but some reason google.load works when run through normal javascript, but if I call the method from my jquery ready function it doesn't work. Code and output is below
window.loadFirebugConsole is not a function If I comment out line 3 in code.js, the console debug runs okay, so the ready function is running okay. Even though there's a reference to Firebug, the same error occurs in Safari too. Nothing on the page loads.
I have a very simple webpage which plays music from youtube, only top 2000 records from the Netherlands URL...For that i've made a database with music links from youtube, and it works fine. But i want more quality.Therfore I've made a Push button and link with a function within it.if sombody want to say to me if its bad quality music that my database is updated by push the button or link. (part -->php script)[code]
The following code opens the desired IE page if you are using IE, FF, Chrome or Safari(IE).. Otherwise, if you're not using IE, you get a message that you need to use it (just the way it has to be for now.) The function doesn't work in Opera -- I'm using 9.63.
Function doesn't work with conditions , but works without them , I need a condition in the function so i can pause, start a slideShow. how do i do this.
I have a function where it add rows into a table. For the example below it adds a row under the Question column, (I have not included whole function as there is a lot of code so instead I have just posted the relevant code.
Code:
//This is inside a function var row = document.createElement("tr"); var cell input,
[code]....
Now my function works really well when it comes to adding a row into a table. The problem is that it works on all major browsers except for Internet Explorer. I have researched an found out that I may need to use insertRow() and insertCell() methods. I don't know how to really apply this into my code so what I want to know is that if somebody knows how to manipulate the code above to include the insertRows and insertCell methods, I know how insertRow() and insertCell is added in the code and I can include this in all of my other columns in the function.
my script that works in firefox/opera like a charm, but doesn't so in IE8.
Here we go:
$(document).ready(function(){ $(".folder").live('click',function(){ var id = $(this).attr("id"); if($('#' + id).hasClass('folderClosed')){
[Code].....
The basic idea is to show a "virtual" directorie from a mysql database over json. The first part works also quit well, only the .remove() function doesn't work right, which means the sub <ul> elements remaining on the page.
The Firefox 3.6.12 displays only: =========== Start =========== 10_ShowClassesAndTypes Starting 10_ShowClassesAndTypestesting dw =========== End ============
The "dw" function writes nothing. Suggestion on how to get "shorthand document.write" function working. In the meantime I'm going to see if I can get Protype to provide a shorthand function.

Iam using Raphael and add the same question in their google group too, but they said, its jquery specific. I think, jquery doesnt found my circle. Maybe different id - handling between SVG-specific and plain DOM elements?
Im using The Superfish Menu code(http:url....) in a web page and it works in all the browsers except Internet Explorer 8, because it says:t ohelp protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer.
<script type="text/javascript"> function Toggler() { Alert();
[code]....
For some reason, this doesn't work on my page. onClick="Alert();" DOES work, but "Toggler();" doesn't. I know, right?! Further weirdness, the code DOES work if I create a simple HTML page that contains nothing but the code contained above. But when I put it into my existing page, it stops working whenever it's embedded. Alert works, Toggler doesn't.
My page is an index.php file which pulls a pre-established "head.tpl" and "foot.tpl", and slots in the requested content between them. I'm trying to put this code in "head.tpl". This is the only JavaScript I'm using (so far), and other than that it's all HTML, CSS and PHP.
The following script sets values for various input elements and I want exactly the same function to run for the on blur event of at least two fields. The first half of the script works fine - however when I take the $('#prod_id2unit_price').blur(function() and script it as a separate function and then call it from
